Hey all,

I hate playing chicken with JetBlue and waiting to see who blinks first. Me, finally purchasing my airfare or JetBlue, lowering their fares. Lately it feels like the fares either stay the same or go up so as usual, I blinked first.

We always fly Wednesday to Wednesday each year for our yearly August Bounceback offer. This year the first day of the Bounceback is on a Thursday so we had to book the first day of the trip that day. The flights from Boston are over $300 more on Thursday compared to Wednesday so I booked my airfare of a day earlier and am going to spend what I would of spent on Thursday airfare on an extra night in WDW. Why give it to the airline when I can enjoy an extra day. Only issue is that it won't include free dining or passes but we can eat CS and just hit Downtown Disney at night. An excuse to relax for a change!!

For the 4 of us (we are all considered adults now) it was $1,071. Direct flights down and back. 7:59 am (why don't they just make it an even 8:00?) down and 8:55 pm (why not 9:00?) on the way home.

Thought I would share the flight and fare info and the story behind it. Might help others in same boat.

Yours won't be the only flights taking off that day. There are potentially hundreds of departures and landings that air traffic control and the airlines need to coordinate. Several days a week, where I live is a Logan landing flight path. Planes fly over here as frequently as every two minutes.

Sorry but I'm not getting your point here? I was just sharing that I booked my flight. Not sure what that has to do with your comments on air traffic?

Be thankful your tickets were that low. I'm pricing out US Air for Sept and can't find anything less than $600 RT for three of us.

"Why 7:59 and 8:55 instead of 8:00 and 9:00?"

I just thought it was funny to have a 7:59 flight instead of just calling it an 8:00 flight. Seems silly to me. And for the record, no one knows more about the flights coming in and out of Logan than I do. I live in Winthrop.

Their point was, that I thinker you missed, was that with so many flights comming and going, rounding off and losing 7 minutes costs money. They schedule flights as often as they can, not every manageable 15-30 minute block

Way off topic.......
But, Winthrop girl here too
North Central Mass now, but family still there, and it will always be home.
Had DD down the landing last week watching the planes fly overhead (almost touchable if you know Winthrop). Started at the rotary watching them come in..then to the landing to read tail numbers

Thank you, yes. With close to a thousand flights daily and Logan not processing scheduled departures/arrivals in the middle of the night, because of its proximity to homes, not every single flight can possibly be scheduled to depart or arrive on an hour, quarter hour, or even five minute increment.

Amen! If we can get under $350 pp return from either SYR or BUF, we consider ourselves very lucky.
