My family is very excited. We just booked Ft. Wilderness for the first week of January. We have been to WDW two other times, both in January, but this will be the first time we have driven and pulled a travel trailer. It's about a 26 hour drive from Omaha, and I am definitely concerned about the weather we may encounter on our trip. We have decided to take it easy and schedule four days to drive to Orlando. Any tips for driving during this time of the year?

I guess it would be the same as driving from just about anywhere in January.
Just take your time and keep both eyes on the weather forecast as you travel. If you get a bad forecast you may just have to hunker down until things clear up.
I have a Verizon MiFi card so I am on the internet all the time while driving. I think this would be a good idea for you.
And then, most importantly once you arrive at the Fort, relax and enjoy.

Keep an eye on the weather, fingers crossed and hope there isn't ice on Monteagle in Tn on I-24.

Hey bigredbill, we are booked for end of Feb. We live about a hour west of you! Thinking the same thing, hope the weathers nice. Already planning alternate routes and extra days just in case. Not sure Hwy 2 and I-29 S are going to be open yet in Feb so planning different way to go. I figure 3 days driving (500 miles a day) so 4 days should give you plenty. Have a great time and we will hope for no snow or ice when you leave.:banana::cool1:

National weather said we should have a warmer winter. We have lived in Florida for 20 years now and November to February has been shirt only weather half the time.
