Just booked for 13 nights at the POR for the end of jan next year, managed to get the flights for £1171 for 2 adults and 1 child with Ba so prettty pleased with that as we paid £999 last time and dd was under 2 so didnt have her own seat. i also upgraded dd to a 3 year old so she got the dining plan, does anyone know why the disney website still says the qsdp is including 2 snacks and 2 counter service meals when i booked and i have since been told that it will only be one snack from 2012????
Well better get planning now, sooooo excited and pretty pleased that for just under £3100 we are going back to disney with the free dining so recon i will only need a little bit (maybe £400) for spends, we are planning 2 oop meals (character meal in hollywood and vine and a chinese in epcot) and then it will just be treats for dd and maybe some pins :goodvibes. Woohoo!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

great news, happy planning :goodvibes

Not sure if you have done dining plan before but we found when DD was 3 she didn't need her own QS meal - we would get 2 adult meals and share.

QS credits are not split child and adult so you will be able to use them how you wish.

Sounds a great price!

Never used DDP for a child, this August will be 1st time, you are saying a child can order adult meal at CS and don't have to eat Kid's Picks (9 and Under)?
Thats opposite to Disney's brochure which says:
Guest age 3-9 (must order from the children’s menu where available)

I thought I understood DDP :rotfl2:

Kids are supposed to order from the kids menu if available. But what a lot of people don't realise is you don't all have to order a QS meal i.e the kid doesn't have to order a meal.

QS credits are not split into adult and child like the TS meals.

So for us - 2 adults and a child going for 14 night we get 42 QS credits on our KTTW card.

You can only order the same number of meals as per people on your card at once so we can order a maximum of 2 adult meals from the cashier.

The kids meals are poor generally. We've been with DD aged 3 and 4 on DDP.

What we do is share 2 adult meals between 3 of us most of the time eg if I get chicken strips/fries and a cake and a drink that is more than enough food for me and DD. The chicken strips are proper chicken that DD will eat the kids nuggets are like asda smartprice and she wont touch them.

The reason QS credits are not split is some places don't have a kids menu.

Some places have no kids menu so you can order an adult meal there for them eg for us get 3 adult meals at once from the cashier - caseys mk, french bakery epcot, fish and chip place epcot, WPE breakfast DTD - few more aswell.

If you look at the link in my signature to my dining report you will see how we mainly shared QS with DD (she was 4 that trip)

DD is a snacker so we also take snacks like raisins, goldfish crackers with us - keeps her occupied whilst waiting for a parade etc.

Hope that makes some sort of sense :)

Thanks all we are very excited :-). We have done the ddp before when she was 20 months and ended up buying a few kids meals, oh doesnt like to share his meals so i was sharing with dd and i felt restricted to get what i know she liked rather than what i wanted so just for ease thought we would get the plan for her, Plus the extra snacks will come in handy if we will be getting 2 less a day for me and oh now. Roll on planning time :cool1::cool1::cool1: and i better go get a new ticker!!!

Hope that makes some sort of sense :)

I think so, thanks:rotfl2:

From what you are saying you can't order 3 adult meals at once(if they have a child menu) but you could order 2, walk way then go back for another adult meal. Seems odd.

Yes correct (although we have never needed to do that)

You also see parents lining up separately and ordering that way.

What we find is DD needs to eat little and often whereas we especially in the heat don't need to eg if we have a character breakfast we are full until tea whereas DD still needs lunch so we will use a QS for her then.

Our God daughter will probably share her parents meals but I like to understand the system for all eventualities, if it was our Son 14 years ago when he was 3 then he ate adult meals at that age, I don't think Lily will.

Julie you jammy woman you!! Simon told me last night that Roy posted on FB that you guys were going again. You've got the free DDP bug haven't you!! So jealous as we don't have anything planned for next year as we want to try for a bubba, so October may be our last trip as a couple - scary!!

Have fun planning huni :)
