HI ALL,

I AM SO EXCITED, I JUST BOOKED AUG 28-30 UNIVERSAL AND 30TH THRU SEPT. 6TH DISNEYS WL, WL IS MY FAVORITE RESORT. I BOOKED
JUST A ROOM ONLY, THE WOMEN WAS SO NICE SHE SUGGESTED I WAIT UNTIL MARCH AND THEN CALL FOR AP RATES. I ASKED HER ABOUT THIS YEARS FAIRY TALE PACKAGE AND WHEATHER SHE THINKS THEY WOULD HAVE IT FOR 2004, SHE SAID THEY DID SO WELL THAT IT IS LIKLY THAT THEY WOULD DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR. MY FINGERS ARE CROSSED. FOR NOW I JUST BOOKED WITH THE AAA DISCOUNT, WITH WAS ONLY 15% OFF, BUT BETTER THEN NOTHING.
HAS ANYONE SEEN AP RATES OUT IN MARCH FOR AUG. TRIPS??
HAS ANYONE BOOKED FOR AUG. 2004??

i haven't booked yet but am planning a trip in august 04. i keep changing my mind on the resort so that is what is holding me up. i have never booked an ap rate before but from what i have been reading on these boards, they are only release 1-2 mths prior to the dates for which they are for. (i.e. they just released jan and first 2 weeks of feb 2004). by my calculations, that puts us about expecting ap rates for august 04 somewhere around june. i decided to split my trips between universal and disney trips up this year so i am still planning the universal trip in june. hopefully we will see good ap rates for august!

I WAS UNDECEIDED ABOUT WHICH RESORT ALSO, BUT MY DAUGHTER LOVES THE WATER MOUSE, I THINK THIS RESORT HAS A NICE WATERWAY TO RIDE THE BOATS ON. I HOPE MY RESEARCH IS CORRECT

GF seems to be winning the battle with me. my mom loved the resort when we ate breakfast there one year and this is sort of a surprise trip for her. she has never stayed on disney property and so far, my favorite has been AKL so i was considering that. uh oh...there i go changing my mind again!!! i don't know, maybe we'll stay at both and switch halfway thru the trip?

I've never been to GF, but i've seen pictures, it looks beautiful, but its a liitle $$ for me. My dd favorite resort is AKL, that was our first chose but they do not have boat rentals there.

Good luck on your decision, and have a great vacation

That's weird. I just called Disney to ask the same question and the lady said that she didn't believe they would offer it or something comparable again. She said she's never seen them repeat an offer like that :(

i think that there is still hope. i have seen disney offer many packages over again over the past years and just change one small thing and call it something else. the fairytale package may not be called that or include the exact same things but i bet they will offer something comparable.

Diane, I know how excited you must be. I have reservations for 8/14-8/21, 9 glorious days! We were supposed to be staying 10 days but I changed my mind at last minute and added an extra day at Universal. We'll be at Universal starting 8/22 for 3 nights/4 days. This is our first trip to Orlando and we're ecstatic.
We made our WDW reservations a year ago. I also booked room only and got the AAA rate for the time being. I'm hoping a good code comes out.

What is the difference between booking room-only or with a package while you wait for codes to come out?

We also have booked for Aug. 2004! We have Poly Concierge with AAA discount(just in case codes don't come out).
Diane, I just wanted to make sure you booked your Universals stay with an Entertainment rate(they are available for the end of Aug.)?!

Typically room only ressies are just downright cheaper. :D :p Codes are usually always available for just room only ressies as with packages, codes come and go. I've seen them with packages, but not as often as I've seen codes for room only. I'm a FL resident, so I get certain codes others don't and sometimes I have codes available to me that others just don't at certain times of the year. :teeth:

HI, AspiringCindy

Yes I did book with the entertainment rate, not as good as last years rate, but it o.k. Royal Pacific aug 28th $152.00 and Aug 29th
$119.00. I really wanted HRH but that was more.

I think the Fairy Tale Package was a once in a lifetime deal. Jay Rasulo, head of Parks and Resorts for Disney was asked that very question at a press conference, and he said in no uncertain terms that they wouldn't offer that package again.

That could just be a strategy to get bookings up, but attendance is supposedly on the up, and if that's the case, I can't imagine that they would repeat it. It doesn't make sense for them to give an offer of that magnitude when people are booking WITHOUT it.

As for what's the difference with a room only reservation and a package:

The difference is that room only reservations come with JUST the room. Packages usually come with the Ultimate Park Hopper. So if you want admission media OTHER than the Ultimate Park Hopper, you'll need to book room only.

I'm already booked for October 2004, so I know the feeling. I just made our airline ressies, too. 9 nights at WL made with our AAA discount.

We'll probably do at least two Halloween parties. That is our favorite thing to do at Disney. Can't wait.

dpic,

You booked your airfare already?!?!! If you don't mind my asking, what fare did you get, and are you flying out of a major airport? I thought it was too early to start looking. I guess not! :)
