I just got off the phone with Disney and just booked our vacation for August 2009. I am soooo excited. It starts out room only, but i am going to switch it to a package when the rates for 09 come out. We are staying at the All Star Movies 101 dalmations building. Is it pretty close to everything?

Yes, I just called CRO and made my reservation for 2009, for room only, when the 2009 rates come out I will change it to a package.

Yes, that is the only way to book now for 2009. Disney will book your room only reservation now using this years highest rate for the resort that you want to stay at, then when the 2009 rates come out they adjust your price showing the new rate.

I am waiting for the packages to be released before I booked. I booked room only first for the last trip and then changed to the package but they had to refund my deposit and charge another one so this time I am going to wait. I hate waiting though. . . . come on August.

I also booked Aug 2009 Contemporary Atrium Club..We are doing 4 days before our 7 night Cruise and I want to make sure we get a room...

I will try to switch it to Free Dining (if they have it in 2009) in April when Disney Visa Card Holders get first shot...

I had to pay one night's deposit with tax for the 2008 rates. They said I would receive notification when the 2009 rates came out of what my "new" revised total would be. The CM said that I can call once the packages are out and change it to a package, add dining, put on the AAA rate if I want to do that instead of the package through them, etc. Basically I'm just making sure I have a room, but I can play around with exactly "how" I want my vacation to be.

You have 14 days to pay your deposit which is one nights stay at this years rates. they charge you for the highest rate [holiday rate], then when the 2009 rates come out the adjust your price for the rate you want, for example if you are going during value season that is what you will end up paying.All that you paid extra for the highest rate will go toward your balance. Alll you do when the 2009 packages come out is call them and tell them you want to switch to a package and they will fix it for you.They will apply all that you have paid toward you room only to your new package.
We are doing it this way to pay off our vacation a little at a time and still be able to save extra money for all the fun things we want. By the time we go we will not need to stress about money.

You can pay within 14 days. If you don't then your reservation will be canceled. They will give you a conformation no. to use to pay on your balance at the time you book your room. Here is the number that I used.[1-407-828-8101]

You are quite welcome. I just made my deposit payment this morning and the CM that I talked with said the package rates for 2009 will come out in Aug. By then , after they adjust our room rate, we will have our room paid off and have most of our dining and park hopper & more paid for. We will have a who;e year to save for our spending money.
