Arriving June 29, staying until July at the Grand Californian!! How bad will the crowds be you DL experts!!

I don't think it should be too bad. It is summer, and kids are off school, so it might be a little more busy than the average weekday. But the summer is long and spread out so I wouldn't worry. The only thing that I'd worry about is July 4th, as I know July 4th is one of the WORST days at Disneyland when it comes to crowds. I don't know how this affects the days leading up to and the days after July 4th though. But I think as long as you avoid July 4th I wouldn't really worry too much about crowds.

Here's a link that gives days with the largest attendance at Disneyland: http://www.disneylandvacationtips.com/disneyland-attendance.html

But, you know, the more I think about it, and the more I really look at the list I posted above, the more I think that it probably will be a more crowded week. July is generally one of the more busy months at Disneyland, and it probably doesn't help you that it's so close to July 4th. People are probably there from out of state, taking work off for a week to celebrate July 4th. Plus the locals might like to take a few days off around July 4th

Just checked out the link you sent me, thanks so much!! Hoping that the crowds will come July 4th and after since the holiday is Wednesday! When I booked the room today, he said they had lots of openings still for that week. Maybe that's a good sign? Hope so!

We're planning to branch out and do some other So Cal things like San Diego, the giant sequoias, etc. Hopefully we'll miss some of the DL crowds that way!

That is during the peak of summer. It's not aweful but it will be bad when looking at the crowds.

The 4th can be a insane day, but will probably be a ok 4th since it falll midweek. Still super busy since it has the biggest fireworks show of the year in DL.

If that is when you need to go, just plan ahead. Take advatage of the early and late hours by being in the parks. Know how to use FastPass really well. Eat at off hours. Learn strategy to get around crowds, and see the shows.

If your dates are flexible aim for a couple weeks later it will be much better.

Someone may post that your dates coincide with a unfounded rumor that Carsland and the DCA entry will finish then and have a big grand reopening. While this is possible, it's not likely. It is just a target date to hit if they somehow can't get done ahead of then.

Ya, it's always good to branch out. There's lots of other stuff to do in SoCal besides Disney. But as long as you don't go on July 4th I really don't think the crowds will be that bad. It might be more crowded than usual, but the people at Disneyland are experts when it comes to crowd control. Lines always move fast, and there's the fast passes of course. I've gone during the Christmas season, on some of the busiest days, and still have a really great time. Have fun!
