Just booked columbus day weekend!

Hi all. I'm very excited! Me and DH just booked our first WDW trip WITHOUT KIDS!!!! Instead of a party for my 40th birthday in October I told my DH that I wanted to go to Disney, just him and I. We booked POR for 3 nights Columbus Day weekend. I have always wanted to go without the kids and now I'm going to!!!

Congratulations! You will have a wonderful time, I'm sure! It can be crowded that weekend, but you are relaxing, after all, so enjoy!

Early Happy Birthday and Congrats on your trip! Disney without the kids is a wonderful experience that you'll both never forget. My husband and I have done it twice. We told the kids we were on a scouting mission for a future family trip! They were young enough that they bought it, too! When we were at WDW we'd occasionally engage in conversation that we were there without our kids. People would look at us like we were nuts, but then a light-bulb moment would come with a look of hope somewhat like "yeah, we can come without the kids - those people are geniuses!" Have a blast - you'll be an even better Mommy and Daddy when you return home!

The first time we planned a trip without the kids, I was a little hesitant. What will we do without the kids I asked my husband. Whatever we want to was his answer. And then the light bulb went off. We have two kids and they always wanted two different things. They would also want to keep going when we were tired. You try so hard to please your kids and make sure that they have a good experience, that sometimes your vacation isn't what it could be. Now that they are older, we have gone without them twice. We get up when we want. We eat when we want. We go to the park when we want - or not if we don't feel like it. And so on and so on. I know you will have a great weekend!
