Just Booked - CBR - August 17th - 24th

HI! We, which includes Me, DH(who will be celebrating his 40th) and DD (6), will be at CBR Aug 20th-28th.
We are not booked for the pirate rooms, we are booked for a perfered room and hoping for building 3100 in Trindad North. I know a lot of people don't like TN but I like how small it is. I am hoping to be one of the lucky people to score free dining (have never been there during FD before) but we are booked regardless of free dining or not.
Have you ever been in August before? Beware it is hot!

We went in August for the first time two years ago and I swore never again. LOL

We are looking to stay in Aruba 51, my DH is a creature of habit and we've been in that building before. I checked out the pirate rooms but for the amount of time spent in the room, didn't want to spend that much extra.

My husband is a teacher so we are limited as to "when" we can go and did not like the idea of going during easter vacation as it seems to be so croweded. So August it is...
It took us a few days to learn how to deal with the heat.
I wish they would add ice to the pool to try and cool it down.

Now I'm even MORE excited. Just got an email from my TA that I got free dining!

I scored free dining this morning at 7am and was only on hold for 13mins. This is my first time with Free Dining....I am so excited! My husband is excited b/c now he says he can spend more on drinks....LOVE the drinks around the pool!
Me, now I can spend more on shopping without the guilt!

Do you have kids? I was wondering if they have ever tried the pirate cruise?
I am thinking about signing up my DD(6). I heard it was fun for the kids.
Any thoughts?
And my husband is going to sign up for the surfing lessons (if avail) at TL.

I have a DS who will be 11 at travel time. I tried to book the pirate cruise last time we were there but it was fully booked - didn't think to it 90 days before. I saw other kids on it and it looked like they were having lots of fun. I was thinking of doing it this year but wonder if he'll be too old.

Congrats to you for also getting free dining. My DH is thinking of the savings and I'm thinking of what I can spend it on. LOL He already has his pool drinks budgeted. Sounds like we might recognize each other by who's drinking around the pool!

Tell your husband there is no "budeting" drinks while on vacation!
