I just got off the phone with MS where I cancelled a BCV 1BR (Jan 25-30) reservation and booked a BWV Preferred Studio (Jan 21-25)

I requested non-smoking and the CM made a note of that and then there was silence - so I asked is everything ok?

CM then stated well almost everyone making ressies lately is asking for additional requests

LOL, I said oh right, so Boardwalk View, Crescent Lake View, Canal View, Luna Park View, Swan View, close to Studios side etc.....I told the CM that the view was not so important just being able to go and enjoy the vacation was the key thing for me

CM was quite surprised and perked up after that and stated that they wished others were so flexible since they know so many people get disappointed when their specific requests are not granted

Maybe I gave the CM some pixie dust!!!

Thanks

come back and tell what room you got and what the view was ---

when I travel with mother - we spend alot of time in the room - so I need a good view while she sleeps.

now if I was just sleeping there and gone to the parks otherwise - no I would certain not care what I got either.

however the few times I didn't request - I have gotten the worst views - at OKW building 47 of the street - VWL dumpster - BWV - the silly building/main pool. I have once stayed at BCV and asked for a particular view - I have yet to go on a solo trip here. but I have not doubt I will get it unless I ask.

I have very bad luck without request. but that is me - your experience may be complete different.

I never request anything but non-smoking and have never had a bad view.

Well put spiceycat, sometimes you really need a view - I think the interesting part of the conversation was the silience as if the CM was waiting for a view request and the audible relief when one was not forthcoming

If it turns out that I get a %&!*(@^%*!@*( view, I will %&*()!#@^*(%^!@# and make sure I get specific next time.....

Thanks

I think it also depends on check-in time.

VWL told me they don't preassign everyone so they can give you whatever is clean and check you in early. I arrived at 11am and was offered "dumpster view" (not worded that way but I knew). I asked if there was anything else avail I was shown the map and told not for check-in now but given an area for later. it was explained why they don't give room numbers since the guests may not have checked out (which I understand) but I was shown where to make sure the location was acceptable. I than looked at my room report chart to double check and said it was fine as long as it wasn't the no balcony room.

I think if I had arrived at 9pm, it would have been dumpster view for me.

Which room is balcony-less?

Room 4533 at VWL has no balcony. It's a studio room.
