I just booked my flights with Jetblue leaving March 8 and returning March 17. I paid $1350US for 6 seats on direct flights, no stopovers! Woohoo! On Air Canada the same flights were going to be over $4000!

First time flying out of Buffalo. So now I just need to figure out if I stay in Buffalo for a night and leave the car there or just drive direct the morning of. Any advice?

what an amazing price - we did this the first time last year flying JetBlue out of Buffalo. You will love JetBlue - they are amazing!

We stayed at the Marriott Buffalo Airpot. I didn't want to risk border wait times or weather so we went the night before.

The Marriot is about 10 min from the airport so you get a great night's sleep in super comfy beds with no noise. Nice indoor pool. We also upgraded to the club floor as it was cheaper for us to do this and eat the evening snacks and breakfast complimentary than pay for a family of 5. Parking was free for the 2 weeks.

Whoa that is a great price. The cheapest I can find is $69/person/each way and that isn't even direct.

LOL...... I love it that I am not the only non math wizard:)

I figure 1350 / 6 = $225 per person so Damo what you are finding is better pricing ...;)

Still great price! I just checked mapquest and it is the same distance for me to go to Buffalo or Detroit..have always flown out of Detroit so I never checked Jetblue...

oh no! MORE research!:lmao:

Geez, I thought the OP said $135US total and now I see that she said $1350US. I thought something was too good to be true!!!

I'm actually great at math but my reading must leave a lot to be desired!!! :lmao:

LOL...you are just so busy helping all of us you read too fast!;)

Later...gotta check out some flight prices...hotels..parknfly for Buffalo....I really should stop reading here!:worship: not really..love all the info!

Just finished changing all my dates for next years trip as we changed our cruise....

I saw the $69 flights but I couldn't stomach stopping in NYC. WOuld rather pay the extra dollars for the direct flights.

I take it you have the 8am flight out, meaning you should be at BUF by 6:30am. The drive from TO at 4:15am is a very smooth one, I have done it both on a weekday and weekend. We didn't have to hit the brakes once until we hit Niagara Falls (we always cross at the rainbow bridge.) But if we are feeling run down in the week or two before travel, we will book a park and fly hotel. This time, Days Inn $124 (taxes incld, breakfast and two weeks parking.)

Thanks PJ! I'm going to check prices at various places. I live on the Etobicoke/Mississauga border, so I am already through most of Toronto anyways. My main reason for thinking of staying is for the free parking. Need to figure out how much park 'n' fly is there versus starting the vacation a day early. Since we're bring my mother in law with us I thought maybe I leave her with the 3 kids that night so DW and I can hit nightlife/casino at Niagara Falls!

We are in Scarborough, just north of 401, at 4 am it is about 30 minutes to the QEW at the Etobicoke/Mississauga boarder, I would say the drive from you would be around 1:45 minutes over the boarder and to the first timmies in Niagara Falls, NY.

We fly Jetblue out of Syracuse. Jetblue is great. We just booked again for $956 USD for 4 seats, direct flight. Westjet out of Ottawa was $2600. Worth the 3 hour drive.

We live in London so fly Detroit to Orlando but Buffalo is an option if the rates were good enough for us. We pay $110USD for a room at the Fairfield Marriot in Detroit. It includes our week of park & fly. Shuttle to airport.

Just for comparisons...we got 4 tickets to Orlando in Dec for $760 CAD on NWA - direct flight.

I miss flying out of BUF, now that we live in Winnipeg.:sad1:

Flights out of North Dakota are not as good and Minn is too far a drive with a 4 year old and a 2 year old.

Go down the night before and stay at the Sleep Inn. It will work out to be the same as Parking...plus in March you can get the lake effect and end up getting snow on a 4:15 am drive to the boarder.

If you have a larger group (6 of you) I suggest going the night before just to calm the nerves of having so many people.

When my boyfriend and I go we usually leave the morning of. We try to catch the earliest flight which is usually close to 7 am. We leave my house (in mississauga) at 4 am and have always made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare.
