Just booked at 7 months out...

And I thought I'd let you all know that just about everything was available! We have an 8-night stay and I waited until the final day, after some of you said I shouldn't have problems finding SOMETHING if we weren't picky. Well, to my surprise, everything was available except a standard view boardwalk room! (Literally! OKW, BCV, BWVpref and VWL!!)

For this trip, we went with Beach Club Villas. I'm very excited! We couldn't decide between BWV and BCV, so I made a statement to my husband that if a standard view BWV was available we'd take that (fewer points), but if not then we'd do BCV ... and try for boardwalk, old key west, or VWL next time!

Thanks for the advice -- once again, you all were right on and I worried for nothing

Sorry to clog up the boards... just very excited about our first "real" reservation (besides a quick on in January) and the whole DVC system!

Me too! I just called for a studio at a 12 night stay and asked what was available and was told everything, except the BWV/Standard & BWview (which I'm on a waitlist for as I have all but 2 nights reserved out of 12). So I had to do a backup plan, so booked the BCV. We like the option of walking to MGM from the BW, but decided to try the BCV since we've not stayed there yet. I have some banked BW points, but am holding them to book my BW/Oct 07 trip next month when my 11 month window opens. We have stayed at the BC but not the villas, so will be something new for us, unless our waitlist comes through.

btw, did you ever get your planner/glicee? I keep seeing you post that you haven't received it in Ohio.... I can't wait to see it, and we're still waiting too!

We are going to be there at BCV that same weekend, and like you, I was pleasantly surprised that a 1BR was available at the 7 mth mark. I had intended to call day-by-day for the reservation, but I got busy with my daughter's birthday party and forgot until Sunday night. I had my fingers crossed when I made the call on Monday morning and couldn't believe my luck when the unit was available for the entire stay.

May is not a busy time of year down there, that is why you had such a choice! Have fun!
