Just thought i would let everyone know... I have just booked 4 nights in Sept :cheer2: We are going to get annual passports and the very helpful CM has let me book the room only with the AP discount even though we havent brought the AP's yet! She said that provided we show the annual passport at check-in then this will be fine. So the plan is arrive at about 1pm and head straight to the passport office and then on to the Santa Fe for check in (or buy them before we arrive - she is sending an application pack).
The room only was £204 for 2 adults for 4 nights and we are getting the eurotunnel with our tesco vouchers! Who says you cant do DLRP on a budget! :woohoo: (sorry for the excitment i am just so pleased with myself!!!):cheer2: :cheer2:

Interesting result - kinda changes my thinking entirely...

I assuming this was via the 'UK' Call Centre - that now appears to be in the US?.

Thanks

Iain

i think it was through the UK call centre... i originally rung the annual passport office as i had some Q's before i booked... she then put me through to the UK call centre, i was speaking to a french lady so not sure if she was based here, paris or US:confused3 She was very helpful and explained everything really clearly and answered my many, many, many questions:rotfl:
i havent broken the news to Roy yet that once we have brought the annual passports the next disney trip will only cost £250!!! (£50 diesel and £200 hotel and the tesco eurotunnel vouchers) this means we can go to disney for the weekend, for a friday, for a rainy day, for xmas, for the sake of it!!! :scared1: oh the posibilites/reason's are endless!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

What brilliant reasons to go.

Ive just reached 300 posts on this board so I think that is also a good reason to go:rotfl2: :dance3: :dance3:

How are you getting these tesco vouchers?? how does it work???

i may have to take my services from Asda to Tesco if this be the case

and with Morrisons miles vouchers... your weekly shopping could seemingly get you there for nada-i am liking the sound of this it gives me a bigger case to present to my hubby as to why we NEED the APs

with the tesco vouchers they can now be exchanged for lots of different offers, have a look at the clubcard website http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/ to see what they can be changed into. For the eurostar and eurotunnel £2.50 worth of tesco vouchers gets you £10 worth of eurotunnel vouchers so i chnaged £20 worth of tesco clubcard vouchers and got £80 worth of eurotunnel vouchers. basically you convert your tesco vouchers online and they send your eurotunnel vouchers in the post (took about 3 days) and then you ring the tunnel and quote tesco vouchers and then book the train, you can also pay part vouchers and part cash if you dont have enough. We normally do DLP about 3 times per year and drive for at least 2 of them,:thumbsup2 the winter/christmas one we normally go on the eurostar in case the weather is bad. I love the drive over, i actually prefer it to flying and the eurostar! we can go at our own pace and you can get there really early to make the most of your first day:yay: (that i we are normally so excited!) hope this helps and let me know if i can be a little clearer with anything i have said???

Sadly you can't use Tesco Clubcard Vouchers for Eurostar to DLP, it's excluded :sad2:

...and then you ring the tunnel and quote tesco vouchers and then book the train, you can also pay part vouchers and part cash if you dont have enough.

So - based on what you are saying the Tesco Eurostar vouchers can be used for ANY service from Eurostar (bar DLRP?)?.

I became confused having looked at Tesco's site - which made me thing that I had to convert £25 of Clubcard vouchers into a £100 Standard Class Return Leisure Seat. (See -> http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=191&bci=4294967191|Travel and http://www.tesco.com/CLUBCARD/DEALS/PRODUCTINFOSHEETS/P6250.PDF ), and that for bookings over £99 vouchers couldn't be used.

But - based on what you are saying (If I understand correctly), if I were to book a Eurostar journey for - say 2 Adults, 2 Children, and the total came to £250 return - I make up that payment in both Vouchers and 'Cash'.

We normally do DLP about 3 times per year and drive for at least 2 of them,:thumbsup2 the winter/christmas one we normally go on the eurostar in case the weather is bad. I love the drive over, i actually prefer it to flying and the eurostar!

Sooooo....when you do Eurostar having used Tesco Vouchers - what service are you using?. I ask because (as noted also above) - the Tesco site says that DLRP is excluded when using vouchers - or is that just a bad way of Tesco saying that the 'direct' train isn't available?.

Thanks

Iain

We have booked the Eurotunnel using the tesco vouchers, i am not too sure about the Eurostar as i havent looked into this as we prefer to drive on the tunnel anyway. I believe the tesco vouchers cant be used on the direct train to DLRP but i am sure you could do the indirect service, although i would phone to double check this. I paid part cash and part vouchers (£88 in total) we had £80 in vouchers and i paid the further £8 on a debit card.

But the clubcard people are very helpful so give them a call and i am sure they will clarify for you... let us know how you get on ;)

Opps...I've spotted my mistake - confusion in my head over the word "Eurostar" and "Eurotunnel".

Sorry 'bout that.

Thanks for the reply anyhow

Iain

You've not added the Santa Fe trip to your signature.:rolleyes1

Who would have thought DLP could have been done so cheaply. It will seem a bit strange going without actually buying our park tickets as part of the package. I just hope August goes very fast.
