Just booked AKV Concierge Studio at 7 months!

Holy cow, I am in shock!! I was just able to book an AKV concierge studio at 7 months! And I was only booking for one night (we just want to try it out), so there were people who could have been booking for a week now. It's a Saturday night, so that's my only guess as to why it was still available.

31 points for one night hurts a bit, but DH has been wanting to try both AKV and concierge for awhile now so he is going to be beyond thrilled. Especially since it's his birthday that day!

I kept warning him that there are only a few concierge studios and they were probably all booked at 11 months, but he said maybe we'll get lucky. Now he's going to think I can always work this kind of magic.

It's definitely a party here this morning!

Wow, It has to be the fact that it is a Sat night. I have been waitlisted since the first day of the 11 month window for May 3 & 4th. I check on it from time to time, it is still a no go. I have the 5th, 6th and 7th. What night did you get? I was able to get a Value for the 3rd and 4th. If my waitlist doesn't come through, I will just save the points, purchase the DDP for those days.

We got May 16th. I was hoping the Saturday would work in our favor, and it sounds like it did! My only fear is that we'll enjoy it so much that we'll need an AKV add-on.

The AKL itself was enough for us to do an AKV add on. I'm one of the people who would go to the lodge just to walk around and look, even when we were staying elsewhere. When they announced an AKV, I definitely had to add on!

We stayed AKL concierge in 6/06 and have AKV concierge booked for next June. You are going to LOVE it!! The lounge and it's offerings are my favorite of those I've been lucky enough to try. I love the convenience when I'm traveling alone with the kids - and DNeph LOVED the sunrise safari so much that he can't wait to take his cousin on this next year now that she's old enough to appreciate it . I hear wonderful reviews of the sunset safari/dinner at Jiko also - be sure and look into a meal at Jiko - DH and I have had a couple of wonderful meals there alone! Congrats and Enjoy!!

I'd love to get concierge for our May trip, but I know its a long shot at the 7-month mark. I'll end up booking a savannah view and then waitlisting...

Are they adding more Concierge rooms with Kidani Village or are the ones in Jambo the only ones? (I'm going to search and see if I can find the answer but if someone knows, that would be helpful)

No more rooms to be added to Concierge. The 5 Lock offs are it for DVC.

Now is the time to try for concierge. It will only get tougher as the resort sells out.

The only concierge rooms at AKV will be those that are located in the Jambo House. Kidani Village will also not have any value rooms.

I called this past Friday and booked concierge for Sept 2009. It will be our first time.

That's the way we felt, and I kept telling DH to just plan on the Savannah view. Maybe you'll get lucky too!

Now we just have to decide if we're doing the Sunset safari, the Sunrise safari, or the Wildlife Discovery excurision (I know, I know- such decisions ).
