I am so excited I could float up and not come down. We had a pin so I thought I would price out a stay at a Deluxe!:cool1:

We are going Dec7-13 with 5 day hoppers. 2 adults 2 children (1 is adult age)
$2,136.94

That is only $100 more than it cost for us to stay at a moderate. Of course, no free dining, but we are done with that!

Now, I have never booked more than 5 months out so it is going to feel like eternity till we go! Start the new countdown!
:yay: :yay: :yay:

Congratulations:cool1: I'm so happy for you! I know how you feel. We just booked AKL this past Sunday and I'm so ECSTATIC:banana:  After all the researching several resorts in the mod and deluxe category, we decided on AKL and so glad we did! We can't wait! We were going to book the CSR, but with the pool refurbishing in questioning and the resort being spread out, smaller beds, and not as good of amenities for us, we chose the AKL deluxe. Have fun planning the rest of your vacation:woohoo:

We are going to be there the same time that you are, but we are staying at the Poly. I'm just glad it's just less than 300 days until we get into our MK view room. I just know those 299 days are going to be the slowest in history!!

We are going to AKL for the first time too! We're going for our honeymoon in November. I know what you mean about waiting forever...we booked this past October! lol

Good for you! That's great you received a pin, that is a great price! We toured the AKL a few weeks ago, and we really fell in love with it. We are hoping to stay there in Jan 2009, but it will probably have to be a std view room.

We stayed at the WL, which was fantastic! But, I was even more impressed with what I saw at AKL, so we just have to give it a try.

Have a wonderful time!

Shortly after AKL opened, we treated our daughter (the animal lover) to 3 nights there in a Savannah-view room for her birthday. It was well worth every penny! It's a fantastic place to stay and none of us will ever forget the experience.

Have a great time! :)

We just booked at AKL for Sept. 13th. This will be our first stay at AKL and we are so excited! I know how your feeling! We can't wait!

We'll be there with ya from Dec 6 -13  ... no PIN yet, but still hoping (and then we'll upgrade from a Pool to Savannah View ..) :rolleyes1:

I started "planning" this trip on the plane back to NJ from our May 2007 trip ... so I started the "countdown" a "few" months" ago  ... I'm gonna deal in counting down "months" until we hit the 190 day mark for ADRs ... popcorn:: ... switch over to "weeks" at that point ... :3dglasses ... and finally switch over to days when we surprise the DD with the trip on her birthday in November ... :dance3: If I start with days now ...

DW thinks (I hope ...) we're spending the first four nights at ASM - but it cost only about $300 more to stay at AKL (with the DDP) ... so there we shall be!! :woohoo:

See you around the fire pit (I'll be the tall guy in his 40's going on 13 ...) :)

I've also started at pre-trip planning report ...

We'll be at AKL too during that time - Dec. 7-14! We have a standard view room as it was the only one we could get with the code we had but we've stayed at moderates the last two times and this is our first deluxe so I'm excited beyond words at the whole thought of staying there! The wait will be torture for me! My husband says it's waaay too early to talk about the trip so I'll just have to hang out here and read everything I can in the meantime!

It does seem like forever! We would have loved a Savannah view, but we can go out and see the animals. I am just excited to be staying there. My kids have been watching the Disney trip planning DVDs all day yesterday. We have 2 different ones because we have been going for a few years now.

A week from today we will check into the AKL for the first time.

Our stay at WDW was supposed to be for a week at the Poly GV, but using AP rates I was able, for just about the same price, to book a 4 night stay at AKL SV, and then the last 3 nights at the Poly LV. So now we get to try two resorts we've never stayed at.:thumbsup2

I just came back last sunday from the AKL Villas. I had been afraid to stay there due to buses, and it being so far away! I have to say...after everywhere on property I have stayed....AKL is ONE of my favorite resorts!!! and I JUST booked another stay for May 3rd-11th in the villas again!

It did not matter having to take a bus, I did not really even notice nor did I miss being "right there"!!

It is a beautiful resort and I am going back for more! If anything, just to hang at the pool and tour this resort! There is WAY to much to see on one trip!

~GREAT choice!:thumbsup2

oh, and I do have to add, twice I timed the bus going to MK.. at different times, and I used there digital clock overhead, and it was only an 8 minute ride!

My DW is the same way ... what's wrong with them???

Right now I'm trying to decide whether to use our last DDP TS Credit for the Fantasmic! Dinner or Candlelight Processional Dinner ... :scratchin

What's a Candlelight Processional Dinner? We've never gone at Christmas time before so I don't even know yet all of what goes on at the parks at that time of year.

We stayed at AKL for the first time in Oct for DH's 40th and loved it - taking the kids for their first stay at AKV in May - can't wait for our savannah view!
Jersey Girl - DO NOT miss the Candlelight Processional. DSis and I saw it when we stayed Dec. 9-13 last year - we didn't have $$$ to do the dinner, but found a great spot at the back behind the ropes and saw and heard it with no problem for free - it is amazing and moved me to tears - will really put you in the holiday spirit. Be sure to visit all the different Santa's around the world as well. And don't miss the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights at Hollywood Studios. AND be sure to visit all the resorts and see all the different trees, chocolate and gingerbread creations - amazing!:santa:
Phew - hope I didn't go on too much:rolleyes: We loved Christmas time at the World - you'll love the AKL lobby as well. Make sure you have lots of room on your camera - I took over 200 in 4 days, and I've been many, many times.

Thank you, iluveeyore, for all the input into the holiday activities going on. I'll need to look into everything. And, joelp, thanks for the link about the processional. I hadn't heard about this and will now check it out when the new information becomes available for this year.

Now I'm really beginning to wonder how I'm going to fit in all that I want to do there with all the holiday extras there are to do! I already want to eat at more restaurants than I have table services for from the dining plan!!
