We will be staying at RPR. Now, I'm trying to decide what tickets to buy. We will have 6 full days between our travel days. We've been to Universal 3x, my kids (12 & 15) have been twice. Our family is burned out on Disney, and my husband would like a "relaxing" vacation. We enjoy pool time, dining, shopping.

I was considering four day basic tickets, but am also considering visiting VB. Would you buy 5 days + VB? Four and then have two open days? I really think four days in the parks will be plenty and so we'd have two days for relaxing, but not sure what our plans would be. We do enjoy water parks and I've considered Discovery Cove, Aquatica, Typhoon Lagoon, even the beach.

I would suggest the 4-Day Park-to-Park Ticket with Volcano Bay - that ticket gives you the most flexibility and 4 full days to visit either IOA, US or VB - it is $335.45 (including taxes) on Undercover Tourist. Or for about an additional $10 per person you could go with the 5-Day ticket.

I would definitely suggest getting park-to-park tickets though - I think you will feel "locked in" if you go with the base ticket when you are there that many days with EPs.

Not sure if you have ever stayed onsite at Universal before but one our favorite things to do on our "off-day" is to pool-hop to one of the other resort hotels. Your kids would probably really enjoy Cabana Bay"s slide & lazy river or Hard Rock's cool atmosphere.

We have stayed at HRH, but that was years ago. LOVED that pool, for sure. Great idea! I see you've done a lot of the other parks. Would you spend all your time at Universal or mix in a few days of other parks? We have done Disney + Universal 3x and do tend to find those vacations especially exhausting. Last year my daughter was recovering from a broken ankle. We had 8 days of tickets in a one week trip - 5 Disney and 3 Universal. We didn't get a lot done at Universal as we were wiped out by that point. I remember then thinking, "No more than 5 park days in a week long trip!".

What are your dates? I'll be there in June 4-8 at UO and Jun 9-13 near Seaworld.

I'm attaching the link to my pre-trip report. Hopefully it helps. Btw I'm getting 5 day tickets, park to park, plus VB.
May upgrade to APs.

We're currently booked June 9-16. That's when I found the cheapest rates, but I will keep checking back. May also do the annual pass, at least for myself. On a previous trip, it did save us a bit on our room rate.

Thank you for your feedback. Off to read your PTR!

Hi we were at Universal for a week this July/August. We have been several times and love it. This was the first time I took a day and went to Discovery Cove. It was amazing and we can't wait to go back. However, I did not realize that you get a 14 day park ticket to Sea World and Aquatica and you can add Bush Gardens included. We did not have the time to use that ticket and I really felt like I lost some money on it. We are going to do Discovery Cove again in 2019 and at that point we will do just the Sea Word parks and get use of the tickets. Just something to think about if you want to get your money's worth with Discovery Cove.
