I got my Envie magazine in the post yesterday & with it a flyer which allows me to buy up to 5 tickets for both parks for 15 euro each for one visit between 15th July & 31st August. And then inside there was a 30% reduction on stays at a Disney hotel.

So, as I have never been in the peak summer season & have never seen the fireworks, I decided to bring DD1(6yrs), Nicole, for a day trip. Her annual pass has expired & we are not planning to renew it until November, so now I can get her in for 15 euro for the day.

We will fly Belfast to CDG 12th August, arriving about 2pm, get the VEA, book into the hotel, see the characters in the Disneyland Hotel at 4pm if we have time & have dinner in Cafe Mickey. The 13th will be spent in the parks, mainly seeing shows (even though I was there in May I didn't get to do much because I spent most of my time looking after our youngest who doesn't like too much noise, strange places or the characters & won't stay in her pram or on my knee for too long). I don't want to spend all day standing in a queue to do rides that we will be able to do when we all go in November. I want to see the 2 HSM shows, Tarzan, Lion King & the nighttime parade & fireworks. Anything else will be a bonus. It will be great for Nicole & I to get away on our own. DH is off those days & will be babysitting at home. Our flight home is lunchtime on the 14th.

After much deliberation, we are staying at the Santa Fe - my first time there (costing £222 for 2 night). Although I would have liked to save money & stay in Torcy, I didn't like the thought of getting the train back & walking to my hotel (with a tired child) on my own late at night.

So after such an extravagent impulse, I have spent the night listing things on ebay!!!

I haven't told anyone else (except DH) that I have done this, but I know that all the folks on here won't think I am as mad as everyone else will!

Bravo! Sounds like something I would do. I'm sure you will have a fab time, and the time with DD will be well worth it!

:thumbsup2 hey thats fab!!!!!! Lucky you, nice one!!!:thumbsup2

Sounds fabulous! :thumbsup2 And with those discounts it would have been very rude not to book!! ;) :rotfl:

That's fab !! And I agree, it would be rude not to book really at such great prices lol !! :rotfl:

Hi! I am organising a secret trip to Disney Paris for my partner in august. Can you elaborate on the discounts you got, ie is it a just a code you had to quote? If you could share this with us, I would be very happy!
It might even mean with the money saved, that we could afford to eat whilst we're there as well!! :lmao: x

Unfortunately, unlike WDW, you need to have an annual pass already to be able to partake of the discount as you will need to quote your annual pass number when booking.

That's a lovely surprise you're planning. Where are you thinking of staying?

I agree with your actions! Enjoy your stay - my eldest daughter, now 17, likes to go just to take in the shows / parades and atmosphere, not really overly bothered about rides, now the other daughter, 15, is the opposite!

As someone has already mentioned, I had my dream passport in front of me to quote the reference number.

If you are trying to save money, I was considering staying at Kyriad MLV Torcy, just at the train station a few stops from Disneyland, but I didn't fancy going back to it on my own at night - although I'm sure I would have been fine! Plus at 11 pm & with a tired child, I wanted to go for the most hassle free option ie walk back to the hotel, no queueing for buses, trains etc. I am even considering taking her buggy with me in case she is asleep by then & I am definitely going to see the fireworks!

Then you could buy annual passes, giving you 10% off food bills & 20% off purchases in the shops & other benefits & you could go back again in the year. But it all depends on how long you are going for & whether or not you plan to go back.

Good luck with your planning.

If you're not staying at the Disneyland Hotel, how can you get in to see the characters there?

Anyone can go into any of the hotels to meet the characters there, use the restaurants/bars and look in the shops

At 4pm in the Disneyland Hotel some characters (about 6) come down the staircase in the lobby area. There is music playing & they have a dance around with the kids & then stand around for photos & autographs. We called into the Disneyland Hotel in May to book a table in Inventions & it was happening. I don't know if it is only for guests there, but anyone can go into the lobby. I just hope it is still at 4pm - years ago it used to be at 11 am when we actually stayed in the Disneyland Hotel. It is a great chance to meet characters without too much of a scrum.

Thanks for that tip - we are there in August, yes with all the masses but governed by school holidays, yawn, yawn.

Last trip was just before Xmas and we went into the Disney Hotel reception area and they were serving hot drinks which were free!
