Just booked a trip in June -- am I crazy?

2. Rent a car. With the crowds getting bigger, we wasted 10 hours waiting for buses. That's a whole day of vacation! One time it took us 2 1/2 hours to get to DTD from AK!

Thank you for this! We usually fly, but on this trip we are driving, so we will have our car -- I've been doing a lot of thinking about whether or not it makes sense to drive to the parks or take the bus. I like the idea of not having to drive, and getting dropped front and center by the buses. But I do remember being frustrated by how slow the buses seemed when we stayed at SSR last time. You tipped it over the edge for me, car it is!

We've been heading down after school lets out either the 3rd or 4th week of June for the last several years.

Have noticed that it seems to have gotten busier in the parks:confused3 . We do the early EMH/back to pool/back out for ADR & dinner; works well.

We've been lucky the past 2 trips wherein not a drop last year & just 1 afternoon storm the prior-hit or miss i suppose:thumbsup2 .

Will say the year it poured all day, all week, was the easiest to navigate the parks:goodvibes ; rain can be a good thing;)

We too are going in June, the 18th through the 27th. Only thing I can suggest is that if you want table service you may want to try to book ADRs. I spent about one hour on the phone yesterday trying to book mine. Some were really hard to get. For instance we could not get into the Coral Reef at all for dinner unless we wanted to eat later than 8:40pm.

So depending on where you may want to eat, some places may be difficult. There are so many variables, party size, where to eat, time requested. All I know is the only time my family ever argued in WDW is when for some reason we had no dining plans and couldn't find a desirable, affordable place to eat at a decent time.

Oh no, we are going June 22-july 2nd and I haven't made any ADR's yet. I'm so sick of doing all the preplanning stuff. I just want to go relax this year. We might be eating off property sometimes on this trip....
Anyway, OP, we have kids 7, 5 and 3 and we REALLY are insane since we're going at the END of June! But we can't justify taking the kids out of school now that they're getting older too. Unfortunely for us, school doesn't get out here until June 18th this year (we're in New England).
Last year, we did the end of August and as far as crowds go, it wasn't bad, but it was stressful knowing that the kids would be starting school almost as soon as we got home. So we decided to try the beginning of the summer this time, thinking that we've got the rest of the summer to "recover" from our Disney trip. :rotfl2:

We drive to Disney and drive to the parks - with the exception of taking the boat to the MK when we are staying at VWL.

I hate those busses - I personally feel like it is a major cattle call and do not like being squished in one sweaty body next to a strangers sweaty body - especially at teh end of the day when I am tried and cranky.

I can't even imagine trying to deal with it AND 3 young children and all the stuff that goes along with having those 3 young kids.

For my family - driving is a much more pleasant experience.

Hannaconda - We were at the MK boat launch, just getting off the WL boat when that hit. That was some storm. As far as June goes, it's crowded and hot, but not unbearable. We go in June and december more than any other times because I'm a teacher. Actually we've never been in WDW any time other than June and Christmas week. That will change soon - retirement in November.
