First of all, what is this called? A prospective touring stay??? No, that can't be right.

What is actually going through my head is "A Three Hour Tour... a three hour tour." :D ;)

Our visit is in October so it may or may not be warm enough for the beach. But we're looking forward to it!

We're paying $99/night x 3, plus a free 4th night. Is this a standard deal for HHI?

I'll try not to be a pest as I hang out here on the DVC board between now and then. :p

Welcome to the boards, we're glad to have you participate! It will be plenty warm to swim, most likely. We went last year for a week and Halloween was Tuesday night, so a couple of days in November too. We swam EVERY day. by the end of the week, it was in the low 80's and humid. The first day, there was a chilly breeze on the beach, but the pool at the beach house was nice. Also, all the pools are heated. Are you planning to rent bikes? The beach house is a mile away, but a very nice bike ride. The pool at the resort is also nice and the resort has many activities. As for the sales pitch, you are going to be surprised. They may show you some of the rooms, but since you are staying there, they may skip it. If you get the chance, check out a coffee in one of the grand villas. that will ruin you. You may never be satisfied with a hotel again! There is NO pressure at the sales presentation. When we saw it in 99, the lady said they were not on commission and if people liked what they saw and could afford it, they would buy. Have fun and be sure to tell us what you thought, good or bad, when you get back.:bounce: :pinkbounc :bounce: :pinkbounc

The $99/night for 3 nights with a fourth night free is a special for non-DVC members to encourage them to check out the off-site DVC resorts. It is also available at VB. Available dates vary between the two resorts, presumably a function of room demand. The specific dates of availability are listed on the public-access part of the DVC web site: link.

One difference between the HHI and VB "Magical Vacation Offers" is the type of accommodations provided. At HHI, you get a 2-bedroom villa while at VB you only get a studio. My DW and I took advantage of the VB program last January before buying a BWV resale. We knew from this forum that we wouldn't buy at VB (buy where you want to stay most), but were interested in visiting the resort for a short break from the Illinois winter. We're going back to VB for three nights next January after a four night stay at BWV, this time as DVC members. We're also hoping to get switch a week-long June ressie already made at BWV to a stay at HHI if such is available at the 7-month window (I have to wait until November 8 to call about this).
