Just booked - 26 days out and Clueless!

We haven't been to the World in a couple years and so much has changed!

Staying at the Dolphin, which will help since it will be hotter than hadees.
Tickets ordered though employer, but will not have them for a week or so, so haven't linked.
I DID set up MDE, but cannot do anything with it until we get the tickets.

I could use a little help...
Can we make FastPass reservations before we get our tickets?
How about Dining reservations?
What does RFID stand for?

ANY suggestions on how to plan this with so little time would be great!

From my understanding you can't make the FP+ reserves until you get tickets linked.

RFID is Radio Frequency Identification.

No. You need to have valid tickets linked to MDE to make FP+ reservations.

Reservations are open to all at 60days from date, and 180+ for resort guests.

All guests, onsite and off, are able to make ADRs at 180 days. Those staying onsite are able to make ADRs at 180 + length of stay though.

Ok, so when I get these tickets, I think I can link them to the MDE system/App and make FP+ reservations... BUT, can we get the Magic Bands somehow? Our Dolphin ressie is not thru Disney, just through SPG directly.

Swan and Dolphin do NOT get magicbands, but you can buy them if you like. We stayed there last month and just use our MB from last fall since we didn't get new ones. Make your dining now, but you won't be able to book FP+ till you link the tickets.

RFID is how the system communicates with its self. You just tap the magic band (or in your case magic card) and the system can read the card. Its like swiping a credit card without the actual swiping part. RFID also has a bit of a range, so the system knows if you ride Splash for example and links that pic of you to your account (if you have a MB that is).

Sounds like you're eager to be able to do stuff- if you want to start laying out plans for each day (even if you can't make FP+ reservations just yet), read up on crowd calendar and recommended touring strategies on easywdw.com

Overall though, don't stress- remember you're on vacation!

I don't know much about the fast pass + or magic bands, other than they come in cool colors. I guess I have to figure all of that out. We know the parks, as far as where everything is located & how to get from A-B, when to go to which park, but we had a system with the old FP program, I don't like being clueless with the new system!

If you have one of those devices that you use to automatically pay tolls on the freeway (not sure where you live), RFID is the same technology that those use. It can read your "tag" (whether inside that device or in your magic band) from a distance.
