Hi, just starting on my weight loss journey, wish me well! :goodvibes Blood pressure is a bit too high and dr. wants me to start with diet/exercise and see what that does. I don't have the results of the bloodwork yet, so don't know if cholesterol or anything is an issue yet. But figured I may as well start. I figure I'm about 100 lbs overweight and my first goal is 25 lbs by Christmas. I've done the starvation diet (1200 cal) in the past and quit after a couple weeks because I was sick of starving and watching everyone else eat. So this time I'm working on lifestyle changes first with healthier food (good for the whole family!), less eating (for me!) and more exercise for all of us. Gonna take some time, but then it took me years to get here so .... but just gotta start somewhere! :)

Good Luck! Setting smaller goals are exactly what I did and it worked for me so I like your strategy. :thumbsup2

:welcome: to WISH and congratulations for chosing to live healthier. It is never too late to get healthier and it sounds like you have a plan of action in place. I am glad to see you are passing over starvation because that is not the way to get long term results. Something that may help in your journey is to keep a journal of what you eat and drink every day. This will help you to be accountable and to see exactly what you are putting in your body. Good luck to you on your journey, stop by often and keep us posted.

Hello!

This is the spot for support and encouragement. I think your December goal is a good one. Sometimes I go over what I am actually able to do, and now doing more realisitic goals for me. Bringing the family into it has made a huge difference for me. When shopping for meals, I just shop for what I am able to have, and we all benefit. Plus, it keeps me out of the 'junk food' isles!

Best wishes to you!

Wendy
