Just Beginning and have NOOOOO idea

I have been to WDW several times and love it. My husband was just invited to a convention at WDL in June. So no way we are passing this up.

I was to LA and WDL about 20 years ago. I was to Palm Springs and Idlywild about 10 years ago. My husband has never been out west. So my I am in the early early stages of trying to plan. His convention is 3 days at the Disneyland Hotel. I think I will hit disney world while he is at the convention. He really wants to see WDL so not really sure if we will add a few extra days. We have no idea of the schedule yet, so not sure if his evenings will be free.

We plan to take a week to 10 days while out there. As of right now, besides the convention we have no idea what to do. I know this is a wide open question, so here is some background. Adult couple, no kids. We love good food and wine. We can rent a car if need be. A few things we mentioned of maybe doing, without knowing any logistics.

Hollywood
Tour of LA
Beverly Hills
San Diego
Palm Springs??
Driving highway 1?
How far is San Fran?

Again, we are just starting looking into things so some things may be too much to put into our plan. We are all about easy and stressfree, so tours and things like that are good for us.

You should start with The Disneyland Resort guide for WDW vets.

Also look at Citypass for
SoCal attractions
Hollywood
San Francisco

There are also tours to various places from the Disneyland Resort area through Gray line.

Ultimately a rental car for part of the trip is needed.
Highway 1 is a day and half drive when touring the sites along it like Hearst Castle and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. You might consider driving one way and flying out from the other side.

Wow that is a lot to try and get in just a week. Universal is about an hour or two from Disneyland. San Francisco is about 4 to 5 hours. San Diego two hours. There is a lot to do in both towns and you really need a week-end for either one. Disneyland is at least 3 days to reall enjoy because we also have California Adventure a few feet from each other. You should read that site skiing fast told you about.
