Just because we need another Chat Thread

Well I managed to make three stockings(the last which was candy-cane looking with lots and lots and lots of stripes to cut and sew), before deciding to take a break. I feel good about them. I should be able to make 5 more before Christmas.

I was just curious. Stocking are fun to make. When I was first learning how to stich I made a santa stocking. The santa was cross stiched, then had to break out the machine to sew the stocking. I lost it. It wasn't all that great anyway, when your learning how to do something it never looks like the picture on the package.

I think that right there is why I hate starting projects and/or crafts. I am such a perfectionist when it comes to things like that. I would get so depressed over it, I'm sure. It's a real problem that I have.

Has anyone heard about that Mexican hotel explosion that happened yesterday?? That was the resort I stayed at when I went there two years ago. 7 people have died apparently. 5 Canadians and 2 Mexicans. So sad. Also sad for the hotel as it was such a beautiful place. I hope that they can get it back to what it was.

I find the whole thing going on in Mexico so scary and sad. I have to tell you I think that is one place I want to stay away from.

I have heard about a lot of crazy, scary stuff going on in Mexico lately. Fortunately, this was just a horrible accident caused by a gas leak or something, and not a bomb or something done on purpose. It's still sad, but I would still feel comfortable going back to that resort if I could. As long as they got that problem fixed, of course! We had such a good time at that place, that we had been talking about getting married there eventually. We love it that much.

I think it's best to stop before you hate the project. I have done that, I get steam rolling on a project and I burn myself out.

If there's anything I can do to help, lemme know. I think I may animate mine (at least add the glitter to the name) but I've been so lazy and that would mean firing up my PC since my animation program is not on the Mac.

Sounds like you had a busy weekend. I am not much of a plant person, so you are way ahead of me on that. I do think next spring Loren and I are going to plant a vegetable garden. I so prefer fresh veggies.

I love fresh veggies, unfortunately I have a dog that digs so no garden area for me.....I'd love it tho!!!! Most of our houseplants we got from Micah's parents, they buy plants and then when the plants start to wilt they give them to us.......we get them healthy again and take good care of them.

I'm making a "market bag" right now. One of those mesh sort of bags that stretches a lot. I'll be giving at least this one(I might make another) to give to my brother and his girlfriend for Christmas. She is really green and wants everything to be reusable, so I figure they'd appreciate them the most. I told myself I wasn't going to do any Christmas knitting this year(since that is all I did last year), but I'm obviously fickle.

That bag sounds neat!! I love reusable bags too, I try to use them everywhere I go.

Very nice!!!!! I need to go do some beading. I made my BFF the cutest little wine charms for her bday, she seemed to really love them. I'll be making bracelets for gifts too...if anyone wants to see what I've made lmk, I love doing it.

I am doing okay. Been getting these crazy stomach aches quite a lot. Not sure what that's all about, but if they keep happening, I might need to get that checked out to make sure it can't hurt anything. Also to see if they can be stopped. Ouchie!

Thank you! I looooove love my sewing machine. I love older singers(it's always what I've used; my mom's, my grandma's) but I've lusted after the Genie(circa 1972) for such a long time, and finally bought one off of ebay last year.
