Just because we need another Chat Thread

My parents still try to convince my brother and I to bring out our instruments and do a duet. I'll tell you this though, an improvised Clarinet/Trombone duet is not the prettiest. Especially when my brother and I insist on playing in different keys

Aw. I never got to play instruments in school. That kind of would have been cool. I can't play a lick of anything on any instrument. My grandmother attempted to teach me how to play the piano but that was it.

I played the claronet for all of six months in grade school. I have a really hard time reading music. I can tell you how long to hold the beat for, and how many beats in different measures, but the actual letter of the note I have to use the acronyhm.

You would be amazed at the amount of kids in high school band have no clue how to read music after taking it for years in school.

I think that's why I stuck with dancing. I love it so. I like jazz best, but i can do ballet and a little tap. Hip hop, not so much. I can do it, but I look really goofy doing it. Tall white girls never look good looking all gangsta.

I too cannot read music, and I played the clarinet for years (plural, but only 3) because I can play by ear. I never practiced or anything, either. It didn't become a problem until high school when they expected you to be able to do solos and such. If someone didn't play my part first, I couldn't get it.

I play tuba. We all know how beautiful that sounds.... XD

I've always wanted to be in a band period. But that would be pointless. All I could do is stand there. And I'm not even good at that.

BTW, if you really wanted to change your DIS name, try asking one of the mods if that's OK. I don't know their 'rules' about it, but it's doable on these sites.

Do you actually mean that? The horrible part is I'm not a good singer. I just had wanted to because I could. But we performed at Great America and other stuff. I think I have video of us performing at some Christmas extravaganza once. And the blue dress we had to wear.

Man, I wish I could fit back in that without ripping it.
