I just wanted to thank everyone on this board who helped me plan our trip. We arrived home yesterday, safe and sound. It was myself and DD8. We stayed at POFQ which was lovely - so quiet and restful after a day at a park. The pool was a huge hit with DD.
Here are a few highlights of our trip.

1. Soarin' - we did it 4 times and each time was wonderful. Definitely a must
do for anyone going to Epcot!
2. Fantasmic - just a great show!
3. Stitch's Great Escape - my daughter loved this despite the bad reviews I
had read about it. I thought it was cute. Loved the jelly eating alien!
4. Hair wrap - my DD loves her hair wrap and lots of little girls were getting
their hair done.
5. Earl of Sandwich - what a great place to eat!
6. 'Ohana for breakfast - we had a PS for 10:30 on our "down day" and we
had a great window seat which looked over at the castle. The food was
good and the character interaction was great.
7. Boat ride to Downtown Disney from POFQ - just a relaxing way to get
there and back. We had the whole boat to ourselves on the way back. The
driver was very friendly.
It was hot, hot, hot but we just drank tons of water and took our time and went back to the hotel for long afternoon breaks. We skipped Animal Kingdom this time, it was just too hot for us. We are going again next year so we'll do it then. It rained nearly every day but we only got wet once. It was weird, we'd go into an attraction and come out and everything was wet. The time we got wet was one afternoon while in the pool and who cares when you are already wet!
If you have any questions, I'll try to help! :flower:

Welcome back! We got back late Friday night, so did not have any bad weather due to Katrina. It was just me and DSis this time, and I can't wait until Oct when I can take DH and the kids on Soarin' ! We loved it so much ... and because it's now the "popular, gotta go on this" attraction at Epcot, we literally walked onto to Mission Space twice ! :teeth:

Your fav's are certainly some of ours as well ! DH and I discovered Earl of Sandwich in January, so I was thrilled to go back. It is soooo yummy, and so incredibly cheap (gotta love that $ 0.95 side salad!). It's now my ace-in-the-hole to convince DH and the kids to go shopping at DTD :rotfl:

So glad you and your DD had such a great time. Did you try the hot beignets at POFQ? They're another favourite of mine!

Welcome back briarberry! :) You too Mary Liz! :)

I love the boat ride to DTD too...it's one of our favourite things to do. I've yet to try the Earl of Sandwich so I'll have to put it on the top of my list for our November trip. Thanks for the tip about the .95 salad, Mary Liz.

briarberry & maryliz...it's good that you're both back safe & sound

briarberry...on our February trip, my DD is dying to get her hair braided (is this the same as a wrap? :confused3 ..hey, I'm a guy...what did you expect) ...anyway, if so, how long does it take?...and how much do they cost?
thanks, Dave

Welcome home both of you. Sounds like good trips all around.

Welcome back and glad that you all had a good time. Am looking forward to Soarin' so it's nice to hear positive reviews!

Earl of Sandwich is wonderful - not sure if we'll get there in October as we are on the dining plan but love it regardless.

We took the boat to DTD from OKW last October and loved the boat ride. It was a great way to travel.

Back to the reality of work.

Sounds like everyone had a great trip! Our time just can't come fast enough!!!

Just to clarify for Canadave and any others, a hairwrap is not the same as braiding. They have little booths set up at the resorts which do hair wraps. They just braid a tiny bit of hair then wrap colourful thread around the entire braid and add beads. She got to pick 4 colours to use in the wrap. It was $1.50 per foot plus extra for beads. It only took the girl about 5 minutes to do my daughter's hair. It was $28.00 which was ridiculous but hey, we were on vacation! It is suppose to last for about 2 months and my daughter loves it and it looks really cute. :flower:

Thanks for the clarification briarberry...if anyone knows about where, time and cost for braiding, I would appreciate it...I'll probably start a separate thread on this issue...I have a daughter that "MUST KNOW" :teeth:

Welcome back guys. Glad everyone had a great tips. We were down in early August and tried the sandwiches Earl's, even my son who is a very picky eater loved them. I cant wait until our next family vaction to Disney next August.
