Just back from PBH after 2 weeks doing IOA & USF!!
Comments:
1. Never got bored.
2. Hulk is better than DD.
3. Mummy is awsome....I left my stomach on that drop every time!
4. My wife got food poisioning four hours after eating at Emerils. Coincidence?
On complaining to the Duty Manager the following morning, he said, 'when you cook on this scale, it can happen'. There was no apology.
5. Mythos has a reduced menu from our last visit, so was disapointing.
6. Lombards Seafood Grill in USF was superb (2 visits) as was the Kitchen at HRH & Mama Della's (PBH).
I know which resteraunt I will not visit again out of the above!!

7. Use Wegoshop.com....they are excellent.

Many thanks to all you folks who replied to my posts & gave advice that helped make our holiday the best yet in Orlando.
Next trip 2007, although now having PAP's the temptation to go in the next 11 months is too much!!

That's awful that your wife got sick! Are you certain it was related to Emeril's? What did she eat?

Scallops. Can't be 100% certain but she & I ate the same food all day other than that one dish. She was fine untill 4 hours after eating it. It's enough to stop us going again.
Thanks for your concern. It did not ruin the holiday so we just put it down to bad luck.

Four hours seems like a long time for food related illness to set in, but shellfish & mollusks *can* be dicey and the results unpredictable. My husband has unfortunately had similar experiences after eating what appeared to be perfect seafood so I can sympathize with your wife! Sometimes they look, smell, and taste just fine but they aren't...no way anyone would know without eating them.

So, it sounds like if it was related to the scallops, the manager you spoke with wasn't too far off the mark in his response and it probably wasn't a kitchen hygiene/food storage issue, but just one of those chances you take when you eat seafood. If his remarks were exactly as you quoted though, and you were not trying to leverage him for freebies or refunds or something like that, he certainly could have been a bit more sympathetic.

Glad your wife rebounded & didn't let it trash your trip! Great attitude!

I'm so sorry your wife became ill! I've eaten scallops at Emeril's on two occasions, with no ill effects. Please don't let this one incident sour you two on a wonderful restaurant!
