We are back from our 1st cruise! We were on the Easter Sunday Wonder. Great trip! We stayed at the Radisson before the cruise and we stayed at the Nick Suites after.

If you have any questions, let me know.

What did you think of the Nick suites? Was it crazy and crowded or overly "Nick". Did you use the Kids Sparkle salon? Did you take advantage of the extra activites? Did it feel weird to be at Nick instead of Disney? (remember, you said to ask! :teeth:)

Thanks so much!!!!!!!

How was the weather? -
GREAT! I was a little worried because the weather wasn't that great on Sat. It was rainy. Our days on the boat were very warm. The sea was very rough our day at Castaway. I woke up around 6:00 because of the rocking. I got coffee and went on deck 10 to watch us dock. The waves were crashing over the wall near the beach. We learned later that they almost didn't dock! They cancelled some of the boat excursions for the day because of the rough seas. The breeze was actually nice on the beach!

Did they have any special Easter events?-
Not really. I thought there would be more.

Did you do any excursions? -
No. Since this was our 1st cruise, we stayed on the boat and enjoyed the pools. It was nice to be able to grab a chair and have the kids enjoy the pool.

was there fireworks? - yes after the pirate party.

What did you think of the Nick suites? - It was ok for what we needed. We had extra "Plus" tickets on some very old passes that we wanted to use. So on Friday we went to Blizzard Beach. We have 3 kids so we were looking for a close place that slept 5. We knew that spring break would be crazy at the parks so we only went to the water park.

Was it crazy and crowded or overly "Nick".
It did not seem that crowded except at the pool. Not all of the slides were open so the one pool with the slide was busy! We stayed at the other pool instead.

Did you use the Kids Sparkle salon? - no didn't use. It looked like they had hair wrapping and temporary tattoos. My DD had already had her hair done on boat.

Did you take advantage of the extra activites? - No, We are such Disney geeks that we drove over to the BW instead. We are DVC members and we missed our "home". We watched the performers on the BW!

Did it feel weird to be at Nick instead of Disney?
YES. My kids asked when we were coming back to do Disney!

Did you fly into MCO? What are the specifics for getting to the Radd and how early will they take you to the port? Was it crowded or just a smooth trip? Would you do any thing different on the pre night stay?

Thanks a Mickey

how was the radisson? what time did you leave for the port?

We thought the Radisson was fine. We left for the port around 10:00. It worked great. We had the breakfast buffet at the hotel and then got on the shuttle bus.

we are staying at the radisson in June 2005 for our first family disney cruise. I schedule to leave at 10:30. Do you think that's a good time? Was it crowded at the port because of Easter?

 We leave in 13 days and we are staying at the Radisson. We have a 10 am shuttle ressie. Was there a long wait at that time to get onto the ship?

A few more "nick" questions....if you don't mind...I am still debating whether or not to cancel my Caribe Royale ressies in Novamber and switch to "Nick". Our kids are 6 and 8 then so it's prime time Nick for them!

:confused3 Did you have a 2 bedroom kid suite, and if you did what did you think? And how big is the fridge?

:confused3 Were the charactures out and about for free or did you have to pay for a breakfast, or the like?

:confused3 Did kids eat free at all meals with a paying adult? This issue is very confusing on their web site. I think this recently got removed as a perk?

:confused3 Once that other pool will open, do you see it as a huge plus and make the pools better with crowds?

:confused3 Could you please mention the "free" stuff for the kids according to your exposure there...although it sounds like you didn't do many of them.

:confused3 Do you have to pay extra $ to play the play station in the room (ie, rent the discs)?

:confused3 I have been qouted $199/noc and I think this is steep! It had better be worth it!? :confused3

Thanks for you time :flower:

I'll try and answer everything -

Radisson/Shuttle/Port - The port was not bad when we got there. I think we beat most of the Disney busses so this really helped. We walked right up to the counter to register. We did wait in line to board but this was because they were not allowing anyone to board yet. Once people started to board the line moved really fast.

Nick Suites - - We had a suite with a King size bed, a living area, and a room with bunk beds. It only had one bathroom. I'm not sure if this is a 1 bedroom or 2. We arrived Thurs. around 11:00 and were given a choice of 3 rooms, Phantom, Odd-parents, and Coke polar bears (this had not been redone yet). They offered us a $20 upgrade for a pool view room but we weren't interested. My 7 year old boys wanted the Phantom room so we took that one. We did not eat at the buffett. We had a car this trip so we drove places to eat. Plus we had pigged out on the cruise so we weren't that interested in the buffet. I could not figure out who was free myself! Things were a little unorganized because the place is not completed. It should be completed by November!

We leave this Thursday and are staying at the Radisson Friday night. What was the cost of the breakfast buffet at the Radisson? Thanks for answering questions.

I'm not sure! I think the kids were $4 and the adults around $7. They had omlette station, waffles, eggs, french toast, cereal, pastries, fruit, etc.
