From a lovely NYE trip... I'll answer and questions you;'ve got... Fire Away!

Welcome back! In which park did you experience NYE?

We were in Epcot from opening to close on NYE. Great time. EXTREMELY crowded around the lake from 4pm on, but still fun. Morning hours were great and not that crowded. Road test track twice and Mission Space once. Both rides broke down when we were on them. We road Test Track probably 10 times during two visits and it broke down quite often. It was closed for a few hours on New Years Day making many people upset. Mission Space broke down when we were next to board. We sat on the floor in the "blue bay" for half an hour with continued promises to move us to "Orange Bay", which they finally did.

The fireworks at Epcot were phenomenal. Maybe the best display in the southeast, including 4th of July.

What did you think of EMH?

We were at Epcot Christmas eve, very crowded, did the CP with Gary SInise, and MGM for NYE. This is the second year in a row we did MGM for NYE. What I like about it is that while it is crowded, you really don't realize it after 6.pm until about 11:30 p.m., because there is Fantasmic, the Osbourne Lights, and musical band interntainment near the Sourcer's Hat, so everyone is spread out. After 6 p.m. we just walked onto a lot of the rides and shows. Then at midnight, they did some amazing fireworks, plus if you stood on the main street, Hollywood BLvd. you could see Epcots fireworks at the same time.

MGM had a hard time with RR breaking down. They finally shut it down. We rode it right before the shut down and it was very bumpy, so bumpy that my DD and I both had headaches for a while. It seems when the parks are so very crowdes, a lot of the rides run inot problems. All in all tho, we had a blast! Now we are fighting today's winter storm..me at work, my daughter at home as she had a snow day!

RnR was bumpy!!? that's scary!

We did the first official EMH at night which was at MGM this week. Thought it was great to get the extra 3 hours and be able to stay in the park after fantasmic. Some rides had no lines, while things like Mermaid were packed. We got to ride RnR and ToT again and to see the Muppets. The backlot tour and Indiana Jones were shut down, as was the ABC Commisary. I think everything in the park should stay open. It made everybody funnel into the remaining attractions.

Still, time is money and with parks closing at 6, 7, and 8, you don't get as much time as people who come when the parks are open until 11. We got our money's worth since NYE and NYD were late days, and we took advantage of a couple of morning EMH and one evening EMH.
