Welcome back!!!

Glad to hear that you had a great time! I was surprised to read that you had very little rain. Several people who just came back posted that it rained Thurs - Sun all day. What were the dates of your trip? :D

:sunny::bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :sunny:

poly 6-15...6-19
disney wonder 6-19...6-22

rained wed night(6-18) for awhile but that is all that we got wet with at the world....rained last night coming back from castaway cay on the boat......

dinners and lunches:

le cellier.....excellent but you better have ps for dinner they turned away everyone after 7:15.....

Ohanas...very good and very busy....window seat for 2 in front of castle at sunset...

san angel inn....dont waste your money....

concourse steakhouse...good but pricey......

in room romantic dinner for 2 at poly.....just ok but very relaxing....

lots of little percs for mentioning our 20th anni.... a couple of free deserts, rose and certificate upon arrival. great quiet room in RAPA NUI with balcony 3rd floor garden view, great seat at ohanas, cake on the cruise.......

What was wrong? We have ps for our stay in July. My wife loves
mexican and has been itching to go there since we saw it back
in 2000. Please tell us your experienece and don't spare the
gory details.

We love the San Angel Inn! I just booked today for our October trip. I wouldn't miss it!

How's the food? Do you get your monies worth? The atmosphere looks great.

went for lunch to san angel........tables are very close and they seat you table to table to table to fill resturant. yes it is very romantic looking. but we felt as if we were being rushed by the waiter. food was worse than chi chis IMHO. for 45 $$ just for lunch. wife had mixed platter, i had chicken pol whatever.....1pc chicken on a bowl full of white brough with onions and tomatoes and peppers for 3 meals. Very tasty chicken but that was it for me....if you really want to do it...just do a lunch......

dont miss le cellier........we had surf and turf with fine bottle of italian wine...wife loved it........yes we spent almost 150 with tip but we felt worth everypenny.....get a later ps ...we did 8:00 pm and epcot was just closing after Illuminations(weve seen) and finished raining. Park was gorgeous in the dark....awesome pics....

everyone who hasnt made resort ressies.LISTEN UP.....try the monorail resorts. you will save alot of time....we stayed in RAPA NUI at POLy. it was 3 minute walk TTC .....stay on the resort mono if doing the Kindom....the express is always packed......got a seat everytime on the resort mono....epcot mono was light also....buses werent too bad at all in IMO..

The food is delicious! We have had quite a few different meals there and have always enjoyed it. DH always gets the combo meal with burritos, chimichangas, ect. I go for the fajitas. DS is very picky and didn't like the sounds of anything on the menu. The chef came out and spoke to him, without our asking, and talked to him about what he liked. DS likes plain old ground beef type burritos, nothing on them and they were not on the menu. So the chef says he will whip him up something. DS ends up getting this HUGE platter full of beef burritos! It was enough to feed 4 people! DS loved them. The chef was wonderful and really goes out of his way to give you what you want. You really do get your moneys worth as the servings are very big and delicious. Now we are taking older DD this trip and that is all she asks about is going to the San Angel Inn. Yes, the atmosphere is so nice with it being darker and cooler with the ruins in the background. Very nice place IMO.

Edited to add that I thought it was NOTHING like ChiChis! We have eaten at ChiChis before and this doesn't compare. I would not go there as often as I do if it even resembled ChiChis! LOL!

Remember all.... this was 2 adults only trip...so rides were minimal but got to do my favs....very light breakfasts(kona coffee and roll).....quickie lunch most days....15-20 bucks for 2...saved most of our spending money for dinner meals and drink.

rides done:
pirates(10 minutes)
haunted house(20 minutes)my fav
big thunder(20 minutes during parade hr)
alien encounter(just so fun to listen to the screams)
space mountain is too wimpy for the wait....
we did MK rides during the parades and specromagic or early am.

test track(at 9:30 am no fast pass....15 minutes)dont waste your time with 3d video chairs after the ride.

maelstrom
river of time(mexico)
living seas(never been) was alittle dated but i enjoyed the tanks.dolphins.... and scuba class in tank(certified divers)
no disney studios this time. have doen last trip.....nothing of interest for us(TOT and RnR coaster are the only 2 for us)....mostly for kids

must have just been a bad lunch day there.we were the 5 th table seated for lunch.... everyone around us was just ok with their meal....i didnt mean to say it was bad but just OK........glad i had changed my pS for that night. went to ohanas instead......not disappointed.

We were just at San Angel on Friday, June 13 at 6pm. It was great as usual. We always try and go each year. I am sorry you had a bad experience. We like the feel of the place. The food and drinks are always tasty. I think the atmosphere is fitting, even if the tables are close. If you are scared to try San Angel, don't be, its great, IMO!! Better luck next time, snowolf,:D .

how were your days on the boat.... did you enjoy them as much as being at the poly.... thinking of doing this next trip...thanks..amy

I love Ohana! I tried it for the first time last month and it was great. We too got castle view window seats but it wasn't late enough for fireworks. That was one, if not, the best meal we had that trip. I just booked that one too for our October trip! Glad you liked it. :D

only 3 nights on boat but a quiet finish to a week off..........

this was our second 7day land/sea.......

spent only 1 1/2hr on nassau....just a couple tshirts for friends..
spent 1 1/2hr on castaway cay... 1 drink and couple of photos...
spent time on ship enjoying free breakfast, lunch , and dinners at the fancy resturants on board(instead of buffets)....last night at Palo on top(window seat for 2)......
went whirlpooling 2 nights.........relaxed on veranda in evenings....

By all means get ressies for Palo but kids wont enjoy the food and they said it was for adults 18 and older only.never saw any kids there. In fact most kids like the burgers etc. instead of the resturant rotations. A little extreme for most kids pallettes...
no mass produced food . In Palo all orders are prepared open kitchen upon order only. Just fabulous..................calamari, chocolate suoffle, many appetizers, they just keep bringing it., had the filet mignon for main course it wasnt even on the menu,
