and I'd like to share we we ate.

My dh had some business in Orlando, and me and sil decided to join him. We stayed at the Gaylord Plams which was just fabulous. We did not do any of the parks but we still had so much fun.

3/26 Citricos One of our favorites and it did not disappoint. For starters, I chose the lobster bisque which was wonderful. DH had the onion tarte and sil chose an arugula salad. Sil and dh also had the wine pairings and I had a citrus martini. For entree's I went with the seared tuna which was divine! DH had the pork tenderloin and SIL had the veal shank. We split the sorbet trio for dessert. Overall this was an excellent dinner.
Total w/ tip $210.00 A-

3/27 Kona Cafe Another of our favorites. We stuck with the tried and trtu. We skipped starters in order to enjoy the dessert! We all had the beef teriyaki and as usual we loved it. We shared 2 plates of ko-ko puffs and each had a lapu-lapu. Also had a pot of pressed coffee which we just love. Again a very positive dining experience. Total w/ tip 123.00 B+

3/28 Arthur's 27 Our first time here but we will be back. We had a 6:15 ressie and we were promptly seated at window table with a spectacular view of disney. We knew we were in for a real treat. For starters sil and I both had the crab crakes, not a trace of filler. The crab was fresh and delicious. DH had the foie gras (sp) and I took his word for it that it was the best he has ever had. ( I don't eat it) At this point the fireworks started and it was just fabulous. I also had the endive salad which was so fresh and crisp. It was served with melon, prosciutto, walnuts and a gorgonzola dressing. Just perfect. For our entree's I selected the herb crusted chicken w/ potato cakes. It was by far the best chicken dish I have ever eaten. Dh had the Duck Trio again something I do not care for but he is still talking about it. It was a duck breast, confit and sausage with a blood orange sauce. He absolutely licked his plate clean. SIL again had veal. It was a grilled veal chop w/ orzo and she also said it was the best veal dish she has had. We had a bottle of wine w/ dinner and coffee after. We were too full for dessert. Next time we will order dessert, they all sounded wonderful.
Total w/ tip $260.00 A++

3/29 Our last nite we dicided to stay at our hotel. We scheduled massages at the Canyon Ranch Spa and had an early dinner at Sunset Sam's. Atmosphere was casual and food was very good. We all had the fried calamari w/ key lime dressing to start. A great choice. For dinner, SIL and I both had the potato crusted snapper which was fresh and delicious. DH chose the free range lemon jerked chicken w/ sweet potatoe hash which was also very good. We each had 2 beers. Total w/ tip $148.00 B+

After our massages we stopped at Ben & Jerry's for dessert. nuff said!! A+

Thanks for reading.

Yum! Your report is making me hungry! Thanks for great info on some places I have not yet tried. And please tell me, because I have only had breakfast at the Kona -- what is the notorious Ko Ko Puff? I am ging back in June and it is on my list of "diet busters!"

I would also love to hear more about Gaylord Palms. It looks amazing. Maybe you can post about it over on the Orlando board!

Wow! What a report! I really want to try Citricos, and Arthur's 27 (reviews of this restaurant are rare :) ). Thanks!

Colleen, the koko puffs are worth busting the diet for IMHO. they are heavenly cream puffs. It comes in a pyramid shaped pile and they are really very good. We have been going to the Kona for at least 10 years and I look forward each trip to my puffs! I am sure you will like them too. I alos posted about the hotel on the Orlando board.

Enjoyed your reviews!!
AS it turns out, we're trying Arthur's 27 for the first time when we go in May. Did you "request" a window table, or did you just happen to get one?? I read somewhere that several tables at Arthur's have spectacular views of Central Florida parking lots and farmland..
Oh--and the crabcakes. have you ever had a Maryland crabcake, and if so, how did Arthur's stack up??

Uncleromulus, We actually did not request a window table, howver the restaurant was not that full and I guess we just lucked out. As far as the crab cakes, for a very long time I had an aversion to crab & lobster(LONG STORY) and I just recently started eating them again, so I really do not have much to compare to. All I know is that they were so good! Sorry I could not be of more help.

Where is this restaurant? Is it a Disney one or is it in DTD? Sounds great and would love to try it.
thanks

Tea Please:
Thanks. Maybe we'll get lucky as well.
jcanary:
It's at the Wyndham Palace hotel, on "hotel blvd" near DD. Tho not a Disney hotel (or restaurant) the hotel itself is on Disney "property", so in that sense I guess you could say it was DIsney restaurant.
Heck-Shula's and Palio are not Disney operated and are in non-Disney hotels, but we usually see a lot about both on the boards.
Not really sure why we don't see much about Arthurs 27---
Anyway-I'll have a review of my own in May.

Thanks for your review.:) Arthur's 27. has to be one of the most overlooked gourmet restaurants around with great service. Hope you enjoy it Uncleromulus Look forward to your review.:)

Wow ... what a great report! You ate at all of my favorite restaurants! We loved the view from Arthur's 27 and our server was a dream! We used the Entertainment card and she let us know she did not punch it so we would be sure to come back again!:D

I ate at Kona Cafe for the 1st time in February and could not believe how great it was! I have always thought it would be just a "cafe". I was wrong!

My DD5 loved the Kiddie Cone and the Koko Puffs were worth every calorie! But what is a lapu-lapu?

Thanks for sharing!:D

Arthurs is on the 27th floor of the Wyndham Palace.

Tea Please-

We had nearly the SAME food at Citricos when we dined there last July. I had the crab cakes, arugula salad, split a lobster bisque with DH, and had the pork tenderloin. DH had the onion tart, arugula salad, veal shank, and we split I think a warm chocolate/banana cake...mmmm. I love that place!!!

Glad you enjoyed it too!!! My mouth is watering now!!!

But what is a lapu-lapu?
KelliR it is a tropical drink served in a pineapple that will knock your socks off in more way than one.:)

Ahhhhhh ... a tropical drink served in a pineapple that will knock my socks off!!!:D Now that is the kind of very important information that is shared on these boards! I learn so much here!
