just back from a trip May 21-24. it was extremely hot and crowded. I live in Miami so I am used to the heat ,but it was really humid. Be prepared to spend money on drinks. The crowds were huge, but we were there at opening and were able to do everything including the shows. The only park we didn't do was DHS. if you have any questions I will try to answer.:goodvibes

Any of the rides or attractions that are out of service?

I know what you mean by be prepared to spend money on drinks. We were there just over a week ago and I probly bought about 15-20 bottled waters over 4 days....and they cost like $2.50 each.

My DH & I found that the water out of the bubblers that are all stainless steel had a better taste & have colder water than the ones with the brass heads. Sometimes this is better buying one if you are going to drink it right away. Don'y forget you can get a cup of ice too.

We just got home Saturday evening. I agree, it was already hot and more crowded than I had expected. I kept telling my hubby that is was about as hot and crowded as I can stand.
We missed RNRC. It re-opened on our last day there, but we did not make it to DHS. My oldest was disappointed, but other than that I think we did it all:thumbsup2

I just returned last night from a four day weekend trip and yes, the parks were very crowded and it was hot. I thought it was almost more crowded than it was when I was there this past April during Easter. It has me totally prepared for my next trip in August!

My husband and I just returned and we didn't buy alot of bottled water. We brought a small water bottle with us and hooked it his belt loop or the purse I carried. We would fill it in the morning and then go to the counter service places and ask for the free ice water (I know some people don't like the taste, but it was fine for us). Then we would drink a little of it and pour the rest in our water bottle. It worked for us :).

Just back Monday myself...I am not a big water drinker but was sooooooooo hot..so what I did was ask the counter service resturants for a glass of ice water then dumped one of those single serving Kool-Aid packets in it...worked for me...

Regarding bottled water, we bought these really huge packs at Target or Walgreen's (far lower priced than the parks') and we carried them along (granted, you can't carry more than 3, but we had a stroller).

Whenever we got thirsty we asked for ice at any counter service place in a large cup, and poured the content of one of our bottles there. Five minutes later, the water was ready and chilled. You can return it to the bottle if you want.

Sorry, this was not a post about unexpensive ways to get good tasting chilled water, but I got carried away :).

We were also there May 16-21. Agree 100% with comments on the heat and crowds. While planning this trip I never thought that either would be a problem. Back to January trips for me.

I did the same with Crystal light. I could not stand the water plain - was disgusting.

I'm going to move this to our trip report board.

We were there last week as well. Just got home on Tuesday & you are all right about the crowds & the heat. It was near 90 every day and very humid. We only had rain 2 days, and they were at the very beginning of our trip (Sunday & Monday, May 16-17). The rest of the week was hot & dry with sunshine...not that I'm complaining but man, I was hoping for a little less humidity! ;)

There also seemed to be a lot of people....much more than the crowd calendars would have indicated before we left. Luckily we managed the lines pretty well. Used FP as much as we could and also took advantage of single rider lines on rides DD was too short to ride (Soarin', EE, RnRC, Test Track). Longest wait we had was for TSM at HWS....an hour and a half. But that was on opening Saturday of SWW. Remind me never to do that again! lol
Most of the rides were between a 20-50 minute wait, FP got you almost right on and single rider lines were usually 20 minutes or less. Both Dumbo & Pooh were listed as 70 minute waits, but we had FP for Pooh so walked right on & Dumbo we hit up after it rained....still said a 50 minute wait but we got on in under 30. My guess is the rain cleared the line out & they just hadn't adjusted the wait times yet.

Overall, we felt we saw & did everything we wanted to, despite the heat and lines & our DD getting sick for 2 days.

the only thing that wasn't operating was "Honey I shrunk the audinece".everything else was open. Even Carousol of Progress was open.
