Well, these two weary forty-somethings are just in from a four day whirlwind tour of the world with our D-niece 15 and D-nephew 12. This was their first trip to WDW.
We stayed at the Contemporary through SOG. Glitches right away at check-in. SOG actually called early Sunday morning and asked if we wanted a water view room (had requested this). There is an extra $10/night, but I love looking at the water, and I say "Sure"! Get there, no water view plus the humorless CM can't even find a record of any room at first and tries to turn us away. She looked some more and finds our resevation and we're off to our room. I can say right here that the attitude of all the CM's at the Guest relations desk was pretty crummy. I had to work too hard to get them to smile or even return a "Good Morning". The one guy who made some PS for us grinned alot but was very sarcastic. Staff at the restaurants at CR and all over the parks were friendly and very attentive
The CR is very nice but a little worn looking
Maybe a face lift will happen soon since we liked this resort alot. It deserves a little TLC. To anyone who can take advantage of the SOG during the rebuilding time, please do so! Great location at an unbeatable price!
The walk from the monorail to the wing rooms is long. Remember that when you have tired little guys (or tired big guys for that matter).
Refillable mugs are great and definitely worth it. Food court is way too small for a resort this size, Expect long waits when the resort is full.
Concourse Steakhouse nice place for breakfast. We ate there every morning except the morning we did Chef Mickeys for the character b'fast. This is a great time, young or old. Even got big grins from a very jaded 12 and 15 y/o. Food selection is good. In fact, we really enjoyed all our meals. Maybe I'm just not picky or am real glad when I'm not cooking , but I enjoyed all my meals
Did I mention how crowded it was?! Unreal! Threw my touring plan away and used the heck out of FP. My only complaint was about the "Stroller People". Arrrgh!!! We were battered and rammed from all angles! Gangway! They're comin' thru!! I'm ready to be slammed for this... but why would anyone want to put yourself or a toddler through that? They looked hot and miserable (so did the Kids
) I think you should wat till the kids are older IMHO
Bad un Disney-like moment... Guy with two double strollers wants us to give up our little place along the World Showcase so his four little rugrats can stand where we are. Now, we have already made room for wheel chairs (including one with a lady with a cane and a seeing eye dog, I swear! a blind person and family!) and now this guy wants us to let his kids in front of us. He says "You guys really gonna take up all that room?" We are standing cheek to jowl along this fence, mind you. My husband politely says "Yes" and stroller guy wants to start a fight. Too much. They stood behind us for a while and let their kids step on our feet and knock over a drink before they left.
Also...very HOT!!!! Made for long days. We really tried to do too much in the short time we were there.
Over all... great time, but I'm too old to do a marathon.
Gonna try and post pix soon
