Hi, everyone. We're just back from a glorious 10 day stay at WDW. Does anyone have any questions?

Ann

I heard there is alot of construction. (Walls everywhere at Epcot and Animal Kindgom) is this true?

hello i was just wondering what everyone thinks of going to magic kingdom on a saturday? i have been before and thought it was crazy but the stuff i have read says sat. is a best day to go thanks

I didn't notice excessive construction going on anywhere. The thing that sticks out in my mind is the construction at POTC. We did not do any EMH's anywhere because we stayed off property this time, but we saw lots of people with the wristbands! We did not go to MK on Saturday this time- the first Sat. we were there was GayDays (we avoided due to the crowds, not for any other reason) and the second Sat. we went to Star Wars weekend at MGM.

I heard there was lots of smoke problems from the forest fires burning around the park, also heard yesterday it poured and thank God put out those fires. Did you encounter any problems?

Just one...how come you didnt take me???? :rotfl2:
Hope you had a good trip. Is there a report in your future?

Hi Ann,

Glad you had a great time. I plan to go next month. Are the parks crowded during the extra magic hours in the morning? Did you notice whether or not the rides for the young ones were less crowded in the afternoons? I was thinking that if parents take young ones out early to beat the heat and take them back for naps maybe these rides might be less crowded in the afternoons.

:) Hello everyone, I am just back from WDW too and not to hijack the OP thread, but I can answer some questions.

The smoke- on Saturday the smoke was pretty thick in the air. My husband and DD went parasailing and had a good view despite this. You could not smell it too bad, it did not pose a breathing problem so to speak......

Epcot EHM- was very crowded. We went to soarin first and it said 45 min. wait after only 15 being open. Not true- we did the ride- wait and all in 30 min. Got a fast pass for TT for 10:30-11:30 and the park was only open 15 min (sent hubby for these while others did soarin). Did MS once- 20 min wait- and FP once too, Did Land boat ride and movie (don't know what they are called). Tried to do Turtle Tack with Crush but wait was 1 hour. :guilty: left park at 11:45am.

Construction- at AK where Theater in the Wild was- walls up here to build new Nemo show, At Epcot- walls up aroung The LIving Seas but you could still enter for Turtle Talk and the Coral Reef rest. was open on that side too.

MK- we went to MK on Friday- were there for 9am and rode Splash mtn, BTMRR, HM, fp Peter Pan, IASWAA, Philharmagic, fp Pooh, then went to lunch at CP for 11:30am, left park and went back for EMH, did Specro at 9p, fp Buzz, watched Wishes, did TTA, Carousel of Progress, Space Mth 2x, Astro orbitor, Speedway, Tea cups, Dumbo, Cindy's Carousel, Snow White. Moral of story- do EMH at night- it was awesome- walk ons mostly except Astro orbitor- 40 min total wait time and ride time. tip- in Fantasyland there were characters out at 1am!!! Mickey and Minnie, Goofy and Donald and Timon were all out there!!!! :) We lwft MK at 2am (closing time)

Hope this helps yall! Any other questions?

The last few days of our trip it was really smoky- to the point of irritating our eyes. One of the fires was close to Celebration. Thankfully they are out. To answer the question about the kids rides, yes, I have always thought that those rides are less crowded in the late afternoon/evening. There was record heat during our trip, and DD2 doesn't take the heat very well, so our policy was to hang out and swim until his nap, then after he woke up we'd go to the parks. We'd usually arrive about 4PM. The only exceptions to the less crowded rule were Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh in MK. Everywhere else (especially MGM) this held true.

I hadn't thought about doing a trip report, Pooksma. We have a rather unique park touring philosophy/plan. Maybe I should do one since this was just about our best trip ever.
