just back

How crowded is it and how was the weather? My neighbors are there now and when I heard that they were going the week before Easter, I had to bite my tongue.

Were any of the "seasonal" attractions open - like CoP or WoL Pavillion? I always manage to miss seeing those because we don't travel during peak seasons.

Did you ride EE? What was your opinion of it? Were the lines long and did FPs run out early? Was AK more crowded than usual b/c of EE?

Any info is appreciated. Hope you had a great time!

Second the weather update - leaving in 2 1/2 weeks - do the kids need sweaters/windbreakers at night?

Thanks and hope you had a great trip!

The crowds were lower than I thought they would be. I had read on these boards that it was very crowded, but I thought it was moderately crowded. Certainly less people than the first week of June when we normally go to WDW. The weather was glorious, especially coming from Chicago. A couple of 90 degree days and the rest in the 80's. We did not need jackets at night although it did cool down quite a bit. CoP was open as was POTC. We did not go to AK, so I can't comment on EE.

I know you weren't asking me but I am just back as well. I totally agree with OP about the crowds. They were very managable. Turtle Talk with Crush was AWESOME. I can't figure out how in the world they do this!! :confused3 He talked with my DS and then to me. Very exciting to be part of the show. I asked a CM about the re-hab on POTC and he said what had been done so far was just internal stuff and when it opens back up in July is when you will notice the changes.

Hey, I'll take my info (and my Disney Park Fix) anywhere I can get it!!!! Thanks for the info--I really want to try Turtle Talk. Hopefully we'll get to do that in 38 days!!!

The only changes I saw in POTC were that some of the pirates that were previously holding bottles of liquor are now holding treasure maps and things like that. We actually walked onto that ride and were told by the CM to sit wherever we wanted. When the ride started, the we noticed that the audio wasn't working and we listened to "yo, yo, yo, yo" repeated throughout the ride. The pirates mouths were moving but there was no dialogue. When we got off the ride, there was a technician there to work on it.

I didn't buy a lot of cool stuff, unless you call a bunch of Star Wars stuff cool. I went down for a quick trip with my sister and left my kids and husband at home, so I brought the boys a few Star Wars gifts. I did see some of the Jedi training school thing that they are doing at MGM for Star Wars weekends, and it was pretty cool. They picked a lot of kids out of the audience to participate in the Jedi training, but my advice would be to get there early because it was really crowded over there.

I think it is really funny that you guys asked about pool hopping and refillable mugs!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: It's nice to see that some people around here still have a sense of humor!

Ann,

Sounds like you had a good time too!!! I'm sure those pirates will be in top form by July. Sadly, we will miss them this trip because we go in May. But, all the more reason to plan another trip!! Welcome home and thanks for the info! :wave2:

I did have a good time, Joshsmom! Where is Granite City?
