Notice I didn't say VWL. Checked in with husband, sister and bro-in-law. Were supposed to have 2 studios in VWL. We checked in ok but sister and bro-in-law had a problem. First they said "computer clitch" then they said they could not be located close to us so would we all like to stay in the hotel in the jr. suite (suite for each couple) with concierge privilges. We took it and had a grand time. Osborne Lights fantastic, CP fantastic, Castle fantastice. (We are 50 something couples with no little one with us this time.) Had a fabulous time and enjoyed concierge. Not sure what all happened that led to change but...it was nice to have towels everyday, housekeeping, chocolates on pillow...view of lake and boat parade and view of fireworks thru the trees. Overall, wonderful Christmas visit.

Wow! I am happy for you. Did you take any pictures of the suite. I would love to see them. Congrats on your early Christmas present:santa:

Lucky you! Glad you had a wonderful trip..

I have heard a number of stories about problems at check in at the resorts lately (something to do with upgrading the system :rotfl2:) but this is the first time I heard that it is hitting DVC as well. I'm glad it was handled so well and you got an early gift!

sweet!! Any pictures? Would love to see the suites :)

We just got a 2BR lock-off at VWL for next November. Are those on every floor? Wondering whether I should put in a floor or view request. Thanks for any advice!

Way cool!! I would welcome a glitch like that anytime!!! We were recently on a cruise and at a DVC mixer. A guy was saying he stayed at BLT and got upgraded from a studio to a Grand Villa for the same reason....never happens to me!!!

:santa:Congratulations! Would love to see photos of the jr. suite or let us know what all it included.

That is wonderful! You guys were so lucky. Before my last trip I had a dream that our 2bdr ressie was messed up and they gave us a grand villa instead. No such luck for us! : )

Was this a true suite? I thought WL had some larger regular rooms they called a "junior suite".

Wow, that's a great upgrade! Nice going Disney! :thumbsup2

MG...I think the junior suite is like a DVC 1BR without the kitchen area. Here's a description I found:

The Junior Suites offer another alternative for families. They are approximately 500 square feet and offer 2 rooms; a living/kitchen room and a Large Bedroom with 2 beds. The Living Room Couch also opens into a bed. In addition to the couch, the Living Room has a TV, table, 2 chairs, wet bar and mini refrigerator.

Junior Suites guests have Old Faithful Club (concierge) access via room key.

There are French doors between the rooms. The advantage to the Junior suite is having a second room to talk or watch TV in while the kids sleep in the bedroom. Most of the suites are at the ends of the wing, overlooking the lake - remember that some of the balconies are privacy balconies. A few of the suites are in the small section facing the lake about half way out the wing and have a pool view.

Junior Suites have only one bathroom. Junior Suites have: hair dryer, coffee maker, *small* fridge, iron, and ironing board.

And I think the OP said that each of their party got a junior suite. Amazing upgrade from a studio!
