Hello Everyone... We just got back from 7 wonderful nights at WL
We were there June 4 - 11. We stayed in Room #4102. It looked out over the roofs of the walkway to the bus stops. We didn't request any specific area. We weren't really there for the view. We were there for the inside ambience and the proximity to Magic Kingdom.
As a point of reference: We have stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter several other times.
I have to say the lodge as a whole was wonderful. The staff was extremely helpful. The lobby is just amazing. The rooms are completely adequate for our family of two adults and two small kids. Might be a little crowded with older kids.
Housekeeping: Our housekeeper was Annette. She was WONDERFUL. The room was always well cleaned. We had a ball playing with her every morning. We let the boys take one of their stuffed animals with them to sleep with to help feel a little more at home. Every morning we "posed" the animals on the bed along with the tip. Every night when we came back we were "topped" by Annette. They were always posed in a better and funnier manner than we left them.
She has a wonderful imagination. As soon as we got off the bus each night,
the boys couldn't wait to get to the room to see them. We got a towel animal EVERY night we were there. It was little "extra magic" each night!!
Here is a list of how she posed the animals for those that care:
1) Left them playing on bed.
2) Left TV (Toon Disney) on with animals relaxing on pillows with TV remote.
3) Made a canoe from towels and placed them in it.
4) Made "pool" on bed with blue trash bags and slide with pillows. Animals were posed on it. This was WAY Cool
5) Blind folded one animal and hid others with note saying they were playing hide and seek
6) Made animal chase scene
Food: We ate breakfast a couple times at Roaring forks. The food was good. Biscuit Sandwiches were very good. We had pizza for lunch one day. It was fine. We ate lunch one day a Whispering Canyon. We had eaten there before. It was good also. However, it seemed to be more calm than other time.
Transportation: I was really concerned about the bus transportation after reading horror stories on here. I was pleasantly surprised. We never waited for a bus more than 10 - 15 minutes. Most times closer to 5 minutes. We did usually go to either Grand Floridian or Fort Wilderness. However, it was only a quick diversion. It never seem to take long. The boat transportation to Magic Kingdom was great.
We didn't use the pool any. However it did look VERY nice.
I would be happy to answer any other questions that you have. JUST ASK!!!
