I'm just back from a quick adult only weekend trip to the World

It was hot and crowded like we had expected, but still managed to have a great time. We hit Epcot twice, MGM twice and MK once all on Saturday, LOL! We did a lot of hopping, but since we only had 1 park day, we had to try to fit everything in.

LOVED Soarin!!! Very cool ride! We entered Epcot through International Gateway and were the second people coming in from that side. We ended up in the first ride of the day at Soarin, however it bothered us that they still made us wait until 9:20 until they let us on. They must have a good reason, but we didnt get it...especially knowing how fast the line grows. :confused3

One other thing that bothered me a bit was the wait time on the board at MGM was off by 1 hour for TOT! We planned to do RNR and TOT, and get a FP for whichever line was longer. TOT said a 13 minutes wait(walk on) so we got FPS for RNR which had a 30 minute wait. We then went to TOT and it was actually a 60 minute wait. UGH! But we got through it and rode with a new sequence we had never had before. We actually went up first. It was probaby one of the best rides we have had on it.

We had a blast in WS in Epcot. Our kids had packed a tiny toy dinosaur in our luggage and we found him when we unpacked. So we took Dino around WS and took pictures of him in each country. We even got Aladdin to hold him for a picture in Morroco. People thought we were nuts, but the kids think the pictures are hysterical.

PI and Jellyrolls were lots of fun too. There were some interesting people at Jellyrolls, LOL!

With the exception of a few line cutters, most people were very polite and friendly. CMs were all great.

The Swan was wonderful as usual. We really enjoyed the DJ at the (Dolphin)pool playng music. I didnt realize they had that. We also had a lot of great food and drinks(I hope to get dining reviews done soon).

All in all it was a wonderful way to spend our 10th anniversary. Any questions, just ask! :goodvibes

Glad you had a great trip, sounds like you were able to squeeze alot of goodtimes in despite the short duration of the trip. :wave2:

Wow, you did a lot in a short time...so glad you had fun!! We LOVED Soarin' as well...such a great ride :) Happy Anniversary!!

Great report! Sounds like you didn't have any trouble getting to Soarin' first thing from IG. Did they open IG right @ opening time? We'll be at the Beach Club in 5 short days & I was wondering how efficient it was to get to Future World from IG. One more question - when did you tour World Showcase & how were the crowds? Thanks for all the info. Glad you had a great trip!

I have noticed on several of my trips that TOT board outside of the ride will say 13 minutes. I think they leave it that way on purpose...ya know, for the evil vibe

Pink Flamingo, we found going in through IG was great! There were very few people there and we didnt even wait in line. We sat on the benches and didnt line up until they started checking bags. They did the checks and let us enter just a bit before 9:00. We were held at the rope until 9:00. They picked a little girl to open the park and told us they were just waiting for clearance from the front of the park before she could open it. Of course, everyone joked with the CMs saying they heard the clearance coming in on the walkie talkies, LOL! But when it did come, they let us right in with the warning to walk, not run. DH and I are quick walkers and by the time we arrived at Soarin there was only 1 guy ahead of us. Just as we were arriving the crowds from the front came to so we sort of just merged in with them.

WS didnt seem very crowded. We had about a 5 minute wait for Maelstrom and we saw the character bus with very short lines for the characters. We had lunch at the Liberty Inn and maybe 1 out of every 7 or 8 tables were taken, right about noon time. When we saw Aladdin he had 1 kid taking a picture with him and that was it(we wouldnt have gotten the Dino picture taken if there had been a long line of kids) There was no wait at the line for Margaritas. ;)

Wendy, they usually put 13 minutes instead of 0 when its a walk on...or at least thats what I've always seen. Thats why I was under the impression there wasnt much, if any of a wait...until we arrived there and saw 60 minutes.

Glad to hear you had a great time!!! Sounds terrific. We loved Soarin' too. Rode it twice in one morning.

WOW! You wore me out. I"m glad you had a great day. Happy Anniversary

Please tell me about the IG. Can anyone use it? Would using it work on an EMH?

Bigmac5, International Gateway, is the entrance to Epcot between France and the UK. You get there by taking the Friendship Boats or walking from the Epcot resorts. I think it would work the same on and EE day, however, if you are not staying at an Epcot resort, I dont know how you could get there.

Good luck!
