Just got back Saturday from a wonderfull week at WDW. Here is where we ate.
Best of week - a tie between Cape May Clam Bake buffet and O'hanas.
Worst of week - Wolfgang Puck Cafe
Cape May Clam Bake - we absolutely loved Cape May. I don't know how many mussels I ate, but it was a bunch. The prime rib was also delicious and wow the desserts were out of this world. Everything we had was really great and this restuarant is now our favorite at WDW.
O'hana - delicious. Grilled steak, turkey, pork and shrimp with dipping sauces. Along with the coconut races, it was a great meal and lots of fun. Also on our list to eat at next time.
Whispering Canyon - another very good meal. I had steak and it was very good. Restaurant is rather noisy and full of children so if you don't like that type thing, you might want to choose somewhere else. Also had breakfast here one morning and it was also very good.
Le Cellier - ate lunch here. We had not been there since it became a steakhouse. Very pleasant atmosphere. I love the Cheddar Cheese soup. I had the hamburger and it was very good. Enjoyed talking to the young lady from Canada. We want to return there for dinner next time. It is a very quite and restfull restaurants. Gives you a nice break from the park.
Rainforest (at AK) - another good lunch. I had the pasta and it was delicious. DW had a hamburger and it was very good also.
House of Blues - very good. Had the gumbo and then a salad. No complaints.
San Angel - very good. I had the Cozumel Combination. About what you'd get at a On the Border restaurant.
Wolfgang Puck Cafe - the only bad meal for the week. We had really looked forward to Wolfgang's because we had enjoyed it so much in the past. I was especially looking forward to the meatloaf. The meal started off badly. We were told the wait was 20 minutes. It ended up being 50 minutes instead. Then they gave us the worst table in the place, right next to the swinging doors going into the kitchen. After seeing the change in menu - no meatloaf or the Pad Thai Chicken which I also have liked in the past - I picked a hamburger. When it arrived, I cut into it and found it to be raw inside. I sent it back and after 20 minutes it finally came back, this time completely burnt on the outside. I complained to the waitress and she said sorry, did I want to try a third time. I said no, paid my bill and left very disappointed.
One thing I would like to say about the week. All of the restaurant personnel and waitstaff at the WDW restaurants were outstanding. They were right there whenever you needed them. At O'hana the waitress kept bringing back seconds, thirds, fourths without asking. Overall we were very, very pleased with our dining last week except for Wolfgang's. I don't know what to say about them. We have had good meals there in the past - maybe we just hit them on a bad night.
