just back went through Poly rooms at SSr

Yes that's what the guide said. He said studios have no balcony or deck. Only the bungalows. The others models had a deck on the tour but the poly didn't so I asked. If anyone truly knows otherwise for fact, I'd love to know!
The DVC Member website states that each PVB studio has a balcony or porch. Here is the description of the PVB deluxe studios, which can be found in the Destinations section of the Member website:

Deluxe Studios
Relax in the stylish comfort of the largest Deluxe Studios at Walt Disney World Resort—larger than most Disney Vacation Club Studios. Natural finishes are complemented with bright pops of color and whimsical Disney art. Design elements evoke the islands and the beach with surfboard-inspired coffee tables, while the mid-century modern look of the furniture evokes Walt Disney's own era. The carpeting features Polynesian-inspired patterns with a subtle hidden Mickey incorporated into the design.

The colorful artwork was inspired by the flora and fauna of Polynesia—the centerpiece is a whimsical work based on the Jungle Cruise attraction. For your convenience, you'll find hidden drawers under the bed that offer additional storage. Each Deluxe Studio also features a private porch or balcony.

Yes but not big enough to sit on. It's standing only from what the guide said.

I stayed in the Tokelau building on the 3rd floor, it had a balcony with chairs.

Sounds like the guide has never been there.

Are they the new studios? If so, this would be a game changer for us. Still may not buy there (too expensive) but may want to stay there.....

Just booked 7 nights at the poly villas- studio standard view April 13-20. We think they will be by far the best studios on property for several reasons- #1 the size vs bay lake tower and GF. #2 is the decor which I think is absolutely stunning. With our 12 month old I think it will be the most relaxing and convienient place to stay at WDW.

According to tikiman, the three longhouses (Moorea, Pago Pago, and Tokelau) that are being converted to DVC villas have balconies. When it comes to anything to do with the Poly, tikiman is probably the most authoritative source.

i was at SSR over the weekend and say the Poly models as well, and I thought they were pretty nice looking and in line with what Disney has done at AK and GF. The CM told me they removed the dresser space because of the numbers of people that were wanting to book 5 people into a studio. So I guess they do look of booking anc occupancy numbers and adjust from those. i would never put 4 into a studio myself but i can understand why some families might. The lack of a dresser is not a big thing since there are other places to store that stuff.

I don't understand the layout of these studios at all. They could have done so much more with them, but instead opted to add in a shower room? Ugh. Seems they attempted to take the popularity of a separate shower over at VGF and use the idea here.

What they should have done IMHO, is to take that space, make it a walk in closet. Turn the closet space into a laundry area, and change out the tub to a tub/jacuzzi. Make the room worth of being called a part of the Poly resort.

I agree twinklebug. Very strange decisions when you think about other things that might have been done at a resort that they weren't going to offer standard 1 & 2 bedrooms.

They removed the dresser to reduce their cost and to make space for an extra person who will increase their profit.

I just called member services and indeed there are balconies and patios for all studios. Ticks me off that our guide didn't know that.

If they would have made it a "studio plus" then what would have happened with the points per night? I think they would have bumped them up, making them harder to sell. What they could have done is made one building with a "studio plus" with higher points.

A 3' foot balcony really isn't a functional balcony, maybe that is what your guide was trying to say.

It's a size that you install to say that there is a balcony while saving construction costs and real estate.

Lets be real, Disney doesn't want you hanging out in your studio room or on the balcony, they want you using admission tickets, and buying food and merchandise.

A lot of these villas will have a parking lot view that are "standard" view and a lot will not. I think a "garden view" category would be appropriate considering how nobody wants a view of the parking lot and would gladly pay a little more to avoid that view!

I recall seeing Romeo & Juliet balconies on some Poly buildings, and if one of those buildings was selected for PVB, it would make sense that the refurb would keep those and not have a traditional balcony. Is this a possibility?

the 2nd floor on some of the lodge building at Polyn don't have a balcony - only the 1st and 3rd. maybe all the studio in the Poly building are on those 2nd floors?

I realize I might be more of a look on the brighter side (at times) and don't believe every decision is made to mess with DVC "owners", but the balconies are the same size as they were before DVC. If they had expanded them, there would be people complaining on this board, perhaps in this thread that Disney wasted money building bigger patios, not everything is a conspiracy. Is it tighter than you would design for your own house, of course. They are full length of room unlike some at other DVC's (i.e some boardwalk rooms) but they are functionally to sit in the morning and have your coffee or whatever you want to do...except dance :crutches:

Is Poly for everyone, absolutely not. I agree that for my purposes there is too much space dedicated to the bathrooms. Closet, dresser, larger area for kitchenette, or just living space would have served my purposes better. Of course if I was traveling with a family of 4 I might greatly value the extra shower!

Just my opinion but I think adding a 2nd bath (yes I know it doesn't have a 2nd toilet) might cost a bit more than a dresser.

I also felt that the studio was a good size and there was enough room even when the extra bed was down.

Although some of the Hotel Longhouses at the Polynesian Village Resort do not have balconies, ALL of the DVC Longhouses have balconies or porches.
