DH and I just returned from a wonderful week at WDW. :) The first half of our trip was just us...the second half of the trip was us and DH's high school band (he's the percussion instructor). The first half of the trip we ate well...second half was mostly breakfast at the hotel (offsite) and counter service. Here's our reviews from the first half of the trip:

DAY 1:
Plaza Resturant Lunch. Great sandwiches and a wonderful break from the parks! Really glad we made it here before they closed for rehab. Would definately go back! DH had the cheesesteak sandwich and I had the grilled chicken sandwich.

Rose and Crown Dinner. Nice dinner here. We both had the prime rib and we both left full! DH had the beer sampler and enjoyed it...he was very chatty the rest of the night afterwards! ;) I'd like to try some other World Showcase restaurants before returning.

DAY 2:
RFC Lunch. DH and I had lunch here in August and enjoyed it so we decided to try it again. We both had the BBQ chicken wrap...we loved it! We also splurged for the Volcano for dessert...YUM!! We couldn't eat it all, but what we ate was really good!

Sci Fi Dinner. DH and I have always wondered what the Sci Fi was like, so we decided to try it. After reading the reviews on the DIS we decided to stick w/ burgers. Burgers weren't on the dinner menu, but we asked for burgers and they were willing to make them for us. These burgers were very good. DH says they're the best he's had on property. It was lots of fun watching the old movie clips! I'd go back.

DAY 3:
Swam Room Service Breakfast. We had to be at MK for 9:15 for our Keys to the Kingdom tour and knew we'd eat lunch later than normal, so we ordered room service for breakfast. It was what we expected so we enjoyed it.

Columbia Harbor House Lunch. This was included in our Keys tour. I just had chicken tenders. DH had the tuna sandwich and said it was really good.

Ohana Dinner. My Favorite!! A Wonderful meal!! I ate lots of wontons and shrimp! DH and I could barely walk out of the restaurant because we ate so much!! Everything was wonderful.

DAY 4:
Spoodles Breakfast. DH and I really enjoyed breakfast here in August so we went back! We both had the Mediterranean breakfast platter...great value IMO (only $10.99 per person). We ate more than we probably should have!

Tusker House Lunch. We did the meal deal at AK. I thought it was a good deal. Tusker house was good for counter service. I think we both had the fried chicken sandwich.

Jiko Dinner. LOVED Jiko! Would definately go back! We started w/ the BBQ chicken flatbread...yum! Then we both had the beef tenderloin after reading such wonderful reviews here on the DIS. And the reviews were right! It was wonderful! For dessert, we shared the chocolate banana bread pudding w/ banana ice cream...it was VERY good! DH loves bread pudding and declared this the best dessert he's ever had! We would definatley go back here!

Really enjoyed your reviews. The Plaza is great isn't it? Have yet to try Spoodles but it is on my must try list.

May I ask how you had your steak prepared at Jiko?

I'm not much of a meat eater...I like my meat cooked so I had it medium well and DH had his medium.

Everything sounds great!

Maybe if I tell me DH about the banana bread pudding at Jiko's we can take a WDW trip sooner than planned. ;)

Thanks for sharing your dining experiences!!

what is the mediterranian breakfast platter?

sounds like you had some good meals.

It sounds like you had a great trip. You mentioned eating at two of our favorite WDW restaurants Jiko & Rose & Crown Pub, we try to eat at these on every trip. What did you think about the macroni & cheese with the tenderloin at Jiko ? I thought it was the best I had ever had. Great post can't wait to read more.

Thanks for the reviews.
Jiko's is one of our favorite spots
Haven't been to Spoodles since they did away with the buffet breakfast--maybe we ought to go back.

From Deb's site:

Explore the flavors of the Mediterranean with this all you care to enjoy platter, which includes Spoodles scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, French toast, chorizo, bacon, bread pudding, vegetable rotollo and breakfast breads - $10.99 per person

The chorizo is a spicy sausage. The vegetbale rotolla are these little veggie wraps...both of us thought they were yucky. The breakfast breads included a croissant, chocolate croissant, and a danish. Everything is wonderful! And it's all you can eat...but honestly, what they give intially was enough to fill us up!

Thanks for the info skuttle! that breakfast does sound yummy. I might have to add that to my "must try" list.

Spoodles for brekfast is one of our favorites! DH loves the mediteranean platter,
I like to order a la cart, too much food on that platter for breakfast (besides I pick off of dh's platter what I want :))

I love their eggs, and pancakes & french toast are good too!

thanks for the great report, and congratulations on your pregnancy! :)
when is the little Prince or Princess due to arrive???

Laura :)

Great reviews. There are some of the restaurants that you listed that I have been wanting to try. After your reviews, I do want to try Tusker House. We love the AK, and this way I don't have to leave the park to find something to eat.

Thanks for posting your reviews, Skuttle, I enjoyed reading them! :)

Thanks for the post. My DW and DD are going to eat at Spoodles this Sunday before they fly back and I'll mention your breakfast to them. They are going to eat at the Calif Grill tonight and watch the fireworks while I eat frozen food!

Skuttle, thanks for the reviews!

I've been wanting to try Jiko and Rose & Crown. They sound great!:D
