I just returned from 2 1/2 weeks at VWL in a one BR unit. It was a great stay.

I didn't see anyone smoking other than in the designated areas at the resort and in the parks. Thank you! The smoking areas at WL/VWL are in good locations, and two of them are well under cover (which came in handy during the afternoon rains, I'm sure).

Mousekeeping left a little to be desired this trip. They kept the bathroom and kitchen immaculate, but the other areas were kind of slapdash. There was a cobweb above the balcony door the entire week I was there. I booked through CRO, so I had daily Mousekeeping, and I did tip daily.

There was a lot of resort refurbishment going on during my trip. They were refinishing the wood floors in the main WL lobby, and doing exterior work to VWL. In fact, I received a letter a couple days ago (under the door) that they would be doing a lot of exterior work around the balconies and if you needed privacy, to please keep your curtains closed. None of the work was inconvenient to me.

Transportation was good this trip. I didn't have to wait too long for buses, and the boats seemed to be running more frequently than usual. I didn't notice much in the way of air conditioning on any Disney transport though. The boats were fine, because the windows opened, but the buses and especially the monorail, were kind of stuffy.

The parks weren't crowded at all. The weekends were more crowded than during the week. Many times, the FP machines were not even operating, due to the low crowds. I was able to do a few walk-ins at TS restaurants for lunch, even though I was there during free dining. Resort restaurants are always a good choice for this.

The only problem with the trip was when I got there, my camera wouldn't work! So there were a hectic few hours getting a new one, but other than that, a great trip. It's such a bummer to be home!:guilty: :sad1:

One other thing - I don't know how long it's been this way, but they are no longer charging for local phone calls. So long as you can make your call without dialing a "1" before the area code, it's a local call. I found this out when I was trying to find out where to plug in the laptop to order my new camera. If you haven't read the phone information for a while, it's worth reading the card again. You can now also use calling cards for free and dial toll free numbers at no charge from your room phone. I always did think it was lame to charge the local call fee for a toll free call.
