Hi!!

Just back from our VA beach stay at Villas at the Boardwalk. We were there from May 23 till today, May 30. We used our points.

We had a 1 bedroom with a balcony overlooking the ocean. It was a great view. The room was nice. It had a queen size bed, a sleeper sofa in the living room, full kitchen, bath with a whirlpool tub, and one small closet in the main bedroom.

We had a very nice time. Weather was on the cool side for a couple of days and only had one day of rain. It was kind of busy when we got there through Memorial Day and then on Tuesday it was a ghost town!! The beach is very clean and nice. We felt very safe there.

Couple of things we had problems with:

Smoking was allowed in all the rooms. DH had called a week before we left to request a non-smoking room due to his allergies. We were told that there were no non-smoking rooms but they would put a note on our reservation to have them run the ionizer before we came. Thankfully, the room smelled fine, the hallway was another story. Getting off the elevator to walk to our room we had to almost hold our breath. What a yucky smell!!

They only did a towel exchange. If we wanted clean towels we were to put them in the tub and they would be swapped out for clean ones. That's all they did!!! Did not replace any toilet paper or tissues. Did not remove any trash. Did not do any extra cleaning unless you paid extra for it. It's a good thing we brought along extra toilet paper or we would have been out by Monday. ::yes:: Two rolls sure don't last long!!

No bell services. We had to find our own luggage cart and use it!

We missed our King bed!

The rooms were nice but smaller than DVC rooms. Closet in bedroom was sooooo small, about 18" wide with one small rod and 2 small shelves. It had the vacuum, mop, and safe in it. Along with the extra bedding for the pullout sofa with two pillows in it. There was no dresser in the room so no drawer space.

When we first checked in we met with their "concierge". He gave us some guides to VA Beach and then set us up for an "info" meeting on Monday to find out what's new with Interval International. They would give us a $50 gift certificate to use toward dining if we attended. Needless to say, we didn't attend. He did call us the next day to see if we wanted to reschedule it but we told him we were not interested and they left us alone.

All in all, we enjoyed our time there. It was very relaxing. We would definitely go there again, or maybe try the other Interval choice of Ocean Beach Club. It looked much more upscale. Turtle Cay looked like OKW but it was not on the beach.

DVC at WDW has us very spoiled. A couple of times something happened or we noticed something and DH remarked "that would not have happened at our DVC resort".

Thanks for reading!!

Thanks for posting.....we enjoy reading about how things go when members trade out. Maybe someday we will do it, too.

While the DVC resorts are timeshares, they are not typical. Some are better and more are worse but they are all different in some way or another. One needs to investigate a given resort to know what to expect, preferably before accepting an exchange.

Thanks for the response. We did do our research on the resort and would pick it again. Just wanted to post a report if anyone else was interested in trading out at VA Beach.

and like it. I would go back. We had a studio which had a street view. It was small, but it was just me and the wife for three nights. The beach was very clean, and lots of good resturants
