We just got back from 5 days/4 nights. Thought I'd pass along some observations.
Attraction Assistance Pass- Our 4 year old has multiple neurological issues, including a seizure disorder and sensory issues. This was our second time using the AAP and it was a lifesaver for our family. We also had the wheelchair as stroller pass, which was also a lifesaver as we navigated the queues. Previous trips he was only willing to ride the Suess carosel and one fish, two fish in IOA. This trip we managed to get him on Minions, the trolley in the sky, and twirl and hurl. He loved the lazy river in Volcano Bay, and did a couple of trips down the rapid river too! My best advice for parents in our situation is to talk to guest services about the pass and be prepared to trade off. We did a mid-day break every day to reset and that helped as well.
Cabana Bay- Love this hotel. We stay in the family suites (family of 5) and bring breakfast to eat in the room. This trip we tried to eat one meal out, either lunch or dinner, and eat sandwiches or leftovers in the room for the other meal. The walk to Volcano Bay is fantastic. Buses to the other parks is efficient, never had to wait more than 5 minutes.
Crowds- We went Tues-Saturday. The crowds and wait times were manageable every day but Saturday. We were also tired and less patient, but Saturday was wall-to-wall people. We were prepared since it was Memorial Day weekend. Still, wait times were not bad, even without Express Pass. On Wednesday afternoon, Volcano Bay reached capacity. We didn't know this (later found out you can check in the app) but since we were on-site hotel guests, we were allowed in.
Hope this helps anyone heading down soon!
