Just Back! Update On Crowds...

Thanks so much for posting this. DH and I leave next Wednesday and I was sooo, soooo worried about the crowds b/c of free dining. Looks like we should be fine. Staying at POP 9 nights. :yay:

LOOKS Wonderful. I just hope it can last a few more days. We get there the 29th, just in time for the food and wine festival. I'm sure that the pace will pick up for the f/w festival. :Pinkbounc

Gee I just might have to cancel our trip in 9 days because of the crowds. Maybe we should rebook for winter break!!! LOL

I am so excited it's not even funny!!!!! Are we there yet?

We were there last Thursday and Friday for the Night of Joy and we didn't wait for anything. Not one FastPass the entire trip. I have a picture of FrontierLand with about three people in it on Friday afternoon. It was a little creepy, but I'll take it... We got to ride BTMRR multiple times without getting off. They weren't even playing the preshow on Test Track on Thursday. You got to walk right through an onto the ride.

how was the weather? from your pics it looks like it was not bad at all! Just curious. We are leaving Thursday. Glad it is quiet. We were there last year at the same time and we experienced the same crowd level. I am thinking that the more people who know this , the busier it could get though. Of course some people just CANT take holidays at this time of year, so maybe it wont make much difference.

Well, that is the downside of this time of year. It wasn't so much the heat as it was the humidity. It was very sticky. Whenever it was about to rain there was a nice breeze but other than that the air was kinda still & just muggy. However we went back to the room mid day to wring out our clothes LOL and freshen up a bit & then were good to go for the rest of the night. We are from South FL so we are used to it but I'll take the heat over the crowds any day! :cool1:

Whenever we have gone it has always been at value season for this reason. :thumbsup2 We really love the parks even more at this time of the year. The downside is the parks close much early but who cares because you don't need the extra hours for riding, there is no wait!! :woohoo:

Generally, pretty light.
We waited 20 mins a few times, but more often it was walk-on or we planned and grabbed some FP's
.
Many of our favorite touring strategies (grap a FP on ToT and then ride RRRC) vanished since they generally closed down the FP lines. One morning we actually stayed on Buzz Lightyear four or five times in a row! (I got the 999,999 twice!). The day of "Ernestito," my wife and son stayed on Splash several times as well.
.
Evening EMH's still should be avoided unless you just like to hang among big crowds. They do not offer additional opportunities for attractions.
.
We will try not to take this for granted, but it sure was fun!

HOLY COW!!!!! I don't think I have ever seen it sooooo empty! Must have been fun!!!!! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for the update. I really do the crowds we face in in less than two weeks really thin out from the crowds you experienced.

That being said, because we are leaving in two weeks (9/24-10/1) I really would be interested in crowd pictures of this and next week. If some of the DIS'ers could post some crowd pictures it will be really great.

I will post some pictures from our trip as soon as I get back for the DIS'ers going after we do.

OT: Dimples: I think we're going to go w/Care Medical for the wheelchair. There is a link to them on the Disabilities FAQ thread. Not sure which section of CSR we will be in yet. Hoping for Casitas.

We just cannot wait to get there! My girls are sooooo excited and when I showed them the pictures of the "crowds" they went just wild with questions like, "How many times do you think we can ride ToT in a row? What about Test Track?" They are just nuts about Disney; I think they get it from me!

I am so excited...we are leaving on the 16th!!!

EllielovesDisney..... I dont know you, but I just voted for YOU to be the one to bring back photos of attendance so that WE can know how bad or good it will be when WE go after you do! :teeth:
Were leaving on the 23rd. It would be really cool if we could keep this thread going for a while so others will have a better idea of what to expect. :thumbsup2 I dont mind doing the same for the rest of you going the first week of Oct. If several of us did this for the next month or two it would be a really good thread. :thumbsup2 I say we try to keep this one alive. Any takers?

Thank you for the update!!
I really was scared for a second there :bitelip: !
We will be leaving is just 12 hours and just makes it that more thrilling knowing that there is the possibilty of low crowds!

Thank You!! :goodvibes

Count us as another DIS family heading there on September 23. I sure hope the crowds stay the same.

We go Oct 16-23rd (I think, atleast, still deciding in general LOL) ..
Thankful we didn't stick to our Oct 1st-5th like last year, seems like alot of crowds last week of Sept, first of Oct due to free dining, F&W, and MNSSHP.

We leave on the 23rd also for 8 nights at the AKL. Down to 9 days and counting... :cool1:
