Well, we just got back from 5 great days at SSR! Me, DW, DD10 & DS7. (my Dbro, SIL, Dneph8 & Dneic6 also were with us~they stayed at Port Orleans/French Quarter)
The resort is very nice. We liked the pool alot! And yes... we also feel the pool WILL NOT be big enough to handle all the guests once all the buildings are open. In our opinion, the SSR slide is much better than the BWV's & BCV's slide.
We noticed alot of construction, but it didn't bother us at all. We stayed in room 1814 (1bd) at Congress Park. The room was nice, but we did notice that this 1bd was smaller than the BWV's, BCV's, and MUCH smaller than OKW.
The CM's were very nice. One thing we noticed was that when we drove on property at night, our car's headlights would reflect off the resort directional signs... we couldn't read them at all. This is very bad and hopefully they will change this.
We walked from our room to the main pool almost every day. It took us about 5 minutes. It was no big deal. In fact, as we walked, we would look at the contruction and we always noticed how fast they were working. We didn't use the bus service very much. We had a car and drove to the parks-we'd rather drive ourselves instead of taking a bus. However... when we went to MNSSHP, we took the bus. It was pretty empty. The quiet pool was just outside our building. It overlooks DTD. That pool is open 24 hrs. People would be swimming or relaxing in the hot tub well into the evenings. We didn't swim there because our kids loved Community Hall. They had some much to do like crafts, Goofy bingo, playstation2, ping pong, they only wanted to go to the main pool.
We got our DD10 her first facial at the spa. I'm told by her that it was "sweet!" My DW wants to schedule one for herself when we return in April.
The food at Artist's Pallet was very good. We had the adult breakfast one morning, and had the flatbread pizza a few times at lunch. We got the DVC 10% on all food we purchased. We were alittle disappointed that they didn't serve chicken strips for the kids. They do have chicken nuggets on the menu though.
The first night we ate at the HDDR, the 9:30p show. (we got the DVC discount). As always, the show and food were very good.
We also ate at Ohana's, Cape May and LTT (when we went to MNSSHP). We've eaten at these restaurants before, and they were all very good!
After dinner at Ohana's, we rented a pontoon boat to view "Wishes." It was great to watch the fireworks show from the water. We all really enjoyed it!!
MNSSHP was really good this year. We've been to this event twice before, and this year we saw the whole parade from Frontier land. The headless horseman rode right by us and the parade was definitely different from last year. We sat along the parade route. It was great!
Well, I think that is all. If anyone has any questions, please ask.
Thanks for listening (reading)!
