During the last couple of weeks, "school field trip" kids are all over all the themeparks (including Disney and Seaworld) right now. Luckily Saturday was the last day for most of them.

I agree -- we went to all of these parks over our 11 day trip. The school groups at WDW were more numerous and worse IMO than the ones we encountered at USO. Let's be fair, folks.

Add it to the list of reasons we will NEVER retrun to Orlando in May (#1 being heat, #2 being crowds).

Two words about rude kids and WDW

POP WARNER

Never again will I make the mistake of going to WDW during the first week of December.

While they were numerous at Disney world for the most part they were better behaved at least the ones I saw (apart from those Make a wish group from canada...)

The Purple shirts from US/IOA Bramblewood schools I believe were line cutting, cussing and overall just acting way out of line. The thing I noticed most about the US/IOA groups was that they were far less adult supervised as the ones at WDW.

I wonder how they segregate those kids in florida. Do they have to take special test to see if they should go to WDW or US? Or maybe the schools do something different. "Hey kids, last time we went to WDW so you had to be well behaved, but this time its US so just run wild."

get real people....they are called middle school kids...theyre rude. If the field trips at WDW were possibly younger kids that would be the explanation.

you said it before I did. blaming a theme park for the actions of it's attendees is ridiculous. for being the happiest place on earth, I've witnessed some pretty deplorable behavior from kids and adults at WDW.

if you want to be proactive, contact the school which you saw on the shirts and complain to the principle.

my daughter's field trip was to Epcot this year. I'm quite sure those 7th graders weren't walking around with mouse ears on their heads and holding balloons.

I am not blaming the parks one bit... But there is a huge difference between the amount of annoying Middle school kids that were at US/IOA and those at Disney World. So what if the kids were younger at Disney (I really doubt that as they were both middle school aged kids). I just noticed there was more of an Adult supervision Noticeable at WDW as opposed to turning the kids loose at US/IOA.

I expected that just as I expect that from Cedar Point crowds. I prefer the atmosphere that disney presents rather than Universal and I prefer the Drive and coasters at Cedar Point as opposed to Universal.

Using the blanket statement that they are middle school kids, they are rude seems to be exactly why they act like that... A good portion of society now lets the kids do what ever the heck they want... and the reasoning behind that is EXACTLY because of what you said... they are rude, they are made that way... it's a load of rubbish, just because they are middle school kids doesn't mean that can't have an ounce of manners in them when they get turned loose in public.

I don't care if they are on "vacation" or on a field trip... there are certain ways to act in public at 13 and 14 you begin to know the difference between right and wrong and if they can't read the signs that say, "DO NOT CLIMB" or "LINE JUMPING IS CAUSE FOR REMOVAL FROM PARK" at that age, they don't deserve to be on vacation from school as they obviously haven't attended a day in the first place...

So what is your explanation. do the middle school kids "revere" the mouse so much that they behave impeccably in his presence? I still say its hogwash. I said above middle school kids are rude. Many are. Not all. OBVIOUSLY. I have one. Sometimes hes rude. Mostly hes charming and funny. SOMETIMES PEOPLE FIND KIDS HAVING FUN ANNOYING! I find that kind of sad.

The guy in your school is a Principal (He's your pal.)

Ethical standards (or specific assumptions) are principles.

Hate to nitpick, but spent the evening cleaning a hampster cage, and am in a mood. :teeth: :goodvibes

IMHO, children do not behave better at Disney than at Universal. Unless they are magical children. :wizard:

...but what do you expect from me, I go to Cedar Point! :p

My explanation as stated above is there seemed to be much more Adult supervision to the childrens group at WDW 2 weeks ago...opposed to the LACK of adult supervision I witnessed with the groups I saw at US/IOA. The more adult supervision the less likely you will have kids behaving poorly (demonstrating why the kids at WDW acted in more acceptable way).

I have no problem with these children having fun, but there is a line crossed when it interfers with the enjoyment of others around them... I.e. line jumping because their friend went ahead of them in line and so well 12 kids had to catch up with that one person (running through the unused queue areas and climbing fences) instead of that 1 person simply letting the 15 people behind him pass by.

this is veering the same way as the threads that state whenever there's unruly kids at our parks, they must be locals. kids visiting from out of state don't behave that way, especially at WDW. I guess all of the unruly kids at Cedar Point are vacationing from Florida.

the parents that open hand smack their kids in the face in front of Cinderella Castle must be locals as well.

WDW doesn't attract a better class of children or people than any other park, you can drop that notion.

I am talking only of the tour groups... Whether or not they came from your sacred state is beyond me... Nor do i really care. I wasn't really referring to "Your" state moreso the groups, but if the tour groups are from Florida well then I guess it must mean florida residents in general... :lmao:

Parents slapping their children in the face at the parks in uncalled for as well and had I witnessed that you better believe I would point that out as being wrong.

Disney, at least for the two weeks I was in florida, attracted a much more MONITORED group of tours. The kids were not allowed to run wild around the park... each grouping of 10 kids had at least 1 or 2 adults who kept them in line. Universal was the exact opposite. I would see and count up near 20 kids wandering around in their pretty little school / tour group shirts without a single adult near them.

I never said anything about Floridians at CP... I simply said that same type of visitors (unruly HS and MS aged kids) seem to run through the parks as if they own the place. The go beyond having just good old fashion "fun" to a point where it makes others around upset.

Why is it acceptable that other adults there not in their parties have to put up with their schit just because they feel like they deserve to cut in front of people and act unruly and no other adults with them control them? Was my money to get in not as green as theirs or did my admission ticket actually include the ability to jump several spots in line just because I felt the urge to?

It is the old Disney trick. The children arrive in buses and are directed thru tunnels that pump pixie dust in to the ventilation systems of each bus and presto magically well behaved children. And we all know at Universal it is all the radio active spiders causing the problems.

Would the level of supervision of the school children really be a reflection of the park or a reflection of the schools that happened to be there on that particular day?

Its a reflection of the schools or groups but it still didn't help the overal atmosphere of the experience.

Same goes for Mission:Space... The ride itself was proven to not directly kill people yet it is still being blamed for them and given the bad rep...

^^ for a response from a few above, if by pixie dust you mean adult supervision than you VERY CORRECT!

I guess you've never encountered a tour group from Brazil at any WDW park. they ramp up the behavior you've witnessed to all new heights. it must be WDW's fault to continue to book them and condone their behavior.

And some guests are breathing the exhaust as they are delusional to think that a for profit business makes a huge difference in the behavior of middle school kids

^ I am not blaming the parks for the rudeness of their child guests... I am blaming the actions as a direct results of the parental/adult supervision which was apparent much more at WDW than US/IOA.

^^ No i haven't had the joy and you better believe I would be just as upset with them... Case being during my trip last 2 weeks... It was the groups at US/IOA that sucked and hence my original and continuing complaint.
