From 2 weeks at Hilton Grand Vacations on I Drive.. we are owners there and this is our second stay there..

This was our 4th week at Disney this year.. so nothing really new for us. We got to ride Soarin again... and have to say it REALLY matters where you sit on this ride.. it goes from being an OK ride to a spectacular ride.. ROW 1 section B.. is the best!! WOW!!

Our 13th or 14th trip to wdw since 98 didnt bring any great suprises..
My DS did the Albatross Pirates Cruise.. which was SO COOOL! They got to go to Epcot and get off at Mexico and Canada before World Showcase opened (I thought I might try and do the pirates cruise next time!)

Any questions? Happy to help!

welcome back.....we rode Soarin 6 times, each time in a different section....i thought that i would prefer the 1st row, but as it turns out, that was my least favorite....my favorite location was 2nd row center...after that i liked 3rd row center....only after that did i like 1st row center...
but i thought they were all spectacular...

so if we're doing location favorites, which side of space mountain do you prefer?.....we much much much prefer the left....in fact we LOVE the left and HATE the right....

:sunny: Welcome home Sammie, I'm pleased that you had such a good time, we too love 'Soarin' and it doesn't matter where we sit it's still great

Pleased you enjoyed yourself. :) I prefer the front row of Soarin', its a more immersive experience when you cannot see everyone's feet.

Oh my gosh Sammie - my DDs did the Albatross Cruise 10 days ago! Could they have been on the same one as your DS?

I'm guessing not as I heard no UK accents but you never know!

They loved it (and they loved the Pirate Cruise from GF in December - two very different experiences)

Hi Miffy...

10 days ago.. when would that have been? on the 24th August? I have lots of pictures of that cruise... yes... it was that cruise!! I was talking with a tall guy wearing a kilt - you cant have missed him!!! ;) Were you the ones that were first there? We were the 2nd family to arrive..

Plus I was also talking with another family who had two DD's on the cruise.. they were wearing red and white striped dresses...

I can send you a link to my photos if you like!

My son and his friend have also done the GF cruise.. i agree.. very different! but both fun!

Sammie xx

Ah, no it was a little more than 10 days ago now I've gone back and checked - August 17th. Definitely don't remember any kilt clad men then though :teeth:

My eldest DD is going to be too old next year so we thought we would let her get one more under her belt - and I'm glad we did, they had a whale of a time!

That would have been a funny coincidence if they had done the same one though!

Very interested in the time you had there. So karen, sammie what is this Albatross Cruise then ? :)

Reid

Hi Reid,

Here's what All Ears says about it:

Albatross Treasure Cruise for ages 4-10 -- Children will wear bandannas as they follow clues and sail to many exotic "ports of call" around Crescent Lake and Epcot looking for treasure. During the voyage, children will hear a reading of "The Legend of the Albatross." At the final port of call, children will have lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cookie, and juice box, and will split up the "buried treasure." Held Wednesdays 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Children must be potty trained -- no pull-ups. Price is $28.17 plus tax per child. Reservations are recommended. Call 407-WDW-DINE.

Really good fun, I recommend it. Check out my Trip Report from December for more info about the other Pirate Cruise from the GF (I will give you the link if you need it :) )

Thanks Karen, that was quick. No problem I'll find the link to your trip report.
Hope you are catching up with being back :)

Reid
