I just wanted to thank everyone here on the DIS for the wonderful tips and advice. We've been going to Disney for many years now, but this was the first time during December and it was the most amazing trip we ever had. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

The crowds were great, the weather perfect, the food delicious, the decorations were beautiful!!! We went to MVMCP, saw CP (Jim Caviezel was so great!!!), saw the Osborne lights, my youngest woke up Tink, did a Wishes cruise and Gifts of a Lifetime Scavenger hunt among other things!! The best was yesterday though....my dad was the veteran of the day at MK and was a part of the flag retreat. He was so moved by it all. I will never forget that. It was such a wonderful and moving trip for us that my father booked us another trip for the same time next year! :earseek: :earboy2:

I'm now suffering from PPD (Post Park Depression) and MWS (Mickey Withdrawal Syndrome)

I met two DISers which was great too!!

Thanks for all the help everyone!!

So glad that you had a nice trip. We just got back on Wednesday. Which day did you do MVMCP? You are right, the weather was perfect last week!! The only things I will change next time are: go to MVMCP on a weekday instead of a Sunday and watch the parade from Main St instead of Frontierland so that we will see the snow.

Hi Popovich,

We went to MVMCP on Tuesday the 7th. It didn't seem too crowded at all. My only comparison is to last year's MNSSHP which was packed. We didn't do any rides at the Christmas party and focused on the shows and the parade! I bet it would have been wonderful to see the parade from Main Street! We saw it from Frontierland as well.

Take care!

llij--Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time. I have read other posts that mention "waking up Tink". Can you tell me about what this is?? We are going on our first WDW trip in Feb, and this sounds intriguing.

Well, there's only one cure for that... planning your next trip and setting up your trip counter! Glad to hear that your trip exceeded your expectations.

Welcome back! Glad you had fun! We just got back last night...I thought the crowds were very manageable...and we really enjoyed the Christmas party.

Not a bad week of weather either...it's going to be chillly (60's) this upcoming week!

Hi Lucy,

Waking up Tink is this...go to Tinkerbell's Treasures shop (in Fantasyland next to the Castle). If you are the first one in the shop ask the CM that you want to wake up Tink. They give you a little wand, take you behind the counter and have you tap on a Treasure box three times saying "Wake up Tinkerbell". My daughter did this and then these lights went shooting around the store (Tinkerbell flying). The CM then brought her over to this chest where you could look through a keyhold to see Tink. My dd got a special certificate for doing this and if you asked her, this was the absolute favorite part of the trip for her. It is pretty cute and I'm glad we got a chance to do this as my daughter is a Tinkerbell maniac! :earboy2:

Good luck!

Stinkerbelle, welcome back! Glad you enjoyed the Christmas party. I heard that the weather was cooling off down there this week. Glad we went last week for the warm weather. My DSis-in-law is down there now for their first trip and I hope they enjoy it and don't freeze!

Sters, you are so right about that cure for PPD and MWS! We plan on going back a lot this next year to get a lot of use out of those APs! :cool1:

Jill,

So glad you had a great trip! My youngest will be jealous that your's got to wake up Tink! Shhh! It'll be our little secret! ;) She was happy though just seeing her in the drawer. She got her fix! :) Our trip was amazing, too... MANY magical moments. I'll write all about it soon. Sad I didn't get to meet you though. That hotel is just huge! Maybe next time!

We also met some nice DISers at the shop at the International Gateway Saturday. Saw CP for the first time - beautiful and moving. We had a special Red Mass Friday, CP on Saturday, and a Posada today for the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Finally some folks that had good things to say about their trips! Thank you!!! Maggie

The CM then brought her over to this chest where you could look through a keyhold to see Tink.
As a side note, even if you aren't the one to wake up Tinkerbelle, you can still see her in the dresser drawer through the keyhole all day long. Look for the dresser with the mirror on top that lights up every now and then.

How do you get picked to be veteran of the day? My husband will be back from Iraq for our trip in April and I would love to try and surprise him with this.

Thanks!!

I have to dis agree about the christmas party on the 7th it was packed....compared to last year same tuesday....Sorry I didnt meet any Dis'ers as I was wanting to....I did meet some very nice people waiting for CP and for Fantasmic....some from Jersey and some from New York....Those people that helped my wife and sleeping son while she was saving our place at Fantasmic for almost 2 hours a very big THANKS....
