We had a wonderful trip!! And I can honestly say I am a convert to DL from WDW!!:lmao: The rides are really much more elaborately themed, SM ROCKS!, and I LOVED how much less walking we did (of course we still maxed out at 11 miles one day according to my pedometer:eek: ). Everything was so easy! It was very crowded, but we used the DIS advice and got in early. We did everything we wanted and had time for afternoon naps (which were never long enough :) ) Oh! And this was my first ever fantasmic....it is awesome!!! And totally worth doing the dessert package because of the crowds! And we got to stay in our seats with our hot chocolate and watch the fireworks :woohoo: It was a great trip, thanks to everyone for all your advice and tips! Don't know if I'll have time for a trip report any time soon, so I just wanted to say THANKS!!!

i have a couple of questions: where did you stay? did you ship any items home? did you do any character meals? we will be there june 5th for our 1st trip and we were thinking of doing a character meal for lunch one day.
thanks

So glad to here you had fun!!! :yay:

YAY for a wonderful trip! Sounds like you had a blast. I am so looking forward to seeing fantasmic, it wasn't showing in Feb, now I'm convinced I just might have to do the dessert seating as well.

We stayed at Carousel Inn, very clean and SO close to the gates! I looked at the Tropicana and the BW right across the street and would stay at either of those too. Of course, we were not in our room much, but the beds were comfy and for some reason they never charged me for parking :cool1: Also, the quiznos is right there, so we grabbed a sub one day for lunch (much cheaper than parks!). I can't say I would recommend the breakfast, there wasn't much too it, but enough for us....cereal, donuts, and a very small amount of fresh fruit (oranges, bananas).
We did not ship anything home, so I can't help you there, but post a seperate question and surely you will get a good answer
We did Goofy dinner and Ariel dinner. The character interaction was great at both, in fact we had the same Mulan at both of them and she remembered us because we had an autograph page just for her, she was thrilled!! The food was good at Ariel's and ok at Goofy's. Goofy's is buffet style and probably great for kids, chicken nuggets, spaghetti, hot dogs. Nothing was bad, just kind of plain for my tastes. The salads and rest of food were all very fresh. I loved Goofy's because of the character interaction, they play games with the kids (pot and pan band), and spend plenty of time at each table. You have to remember that you are paying for the characters, not necessarily the food! We got to see Minnie, Goofy, Pluto (who "licked" the back of neck after I told he was man's best friend, and mine), Chip, Dale, Mulan, and belle at goofy's and mulan, cinderella, jasmine, ariel, pocahontas at Ariels. It was time well spent!! Oh, we had french onion soup, salad, ceasar salad, penne pasta, and chocolate cake at Ariel's, it was all wonderful :woohoo: But the waitress said she had tried the chicken pot pie and sent it back so we did not order that!
Have a wonderful trip!!

Fantasmic is hands down the best show I have seen, I can not imagine how WDW Fantasmic could ever compare since the set up is different. It was really awesome!! As far as the dessert thing goes, it was great for us because we checked in at 7pm, then didn't have to at our seats until 830pm (show time was 9pm). By that time, there was almost no seats on the ground to be had, it was soooooooooo crowded that night! I was thinking it seemed like a lot to pay for a box of dessert, cheese, crackers, but was the best 118 bucks I spent! If you are there at a less crowded time, it may not matter. And it was cold (for us) there last week, everyone had on sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets, etc, so the hot chocolate was great. The service was fabulous. I would recommend doing the early fantasmic if you are paying for the seats because then you get to stay and watch the fireworks:woohoo: If you decide not to do the box, people on here recommend the second fantasmic because it is less crowded. Have fun!!!
