Just back, wanted to give our thoughts on the many resturaunts we ate at, the good, bad, etc...
MUST DO - tea at the garden view lounge at GF, had a lovely tea there while the guys golfed, 9 of us for my GD 8th birthday. We ordered the dog bones and slippers as well...their signature tea is so smooth, loved it, even iced, the fruit and cheese tray is heavenly, actually everything was great the 3 kids had the Mrs. Potts tea and it was TOO MUCH FOOD...they had sandwiches, scones and cream, chose tea over the choc milk, 2 pastries each. I will not ever miss this again, will do every trip - so relaxing, so elegant and pampering and the prices were very reasonable as well, the only things that took us over the top were the dog bones and slippers ($14 ea), but the rest was very reasonable ($8.50 for Mrs. Potts tea for the kids, adults run $12-17 for full tea, but we had lunch, so only ordered trays of scones and cheese/fruit, 3 of us shared a pot of tea for $3)
On to the rest.... (you can tell I liked the tea)
Ohana's - much fun for the kids, but not kid friendly on the menu..and some of us adults were so busy taking pictures of the kids doing the hula, we did not get to eat! (my plate was taken away and all food cleared while I was doing this and I had not had a bite!) Overall everyone loved the shrimp and beef, loved the pinneapple, bread was hard, loved the rice, would do again, but not with kids, one family in our party had to take the kids to McDonalds after to eat
Konas - went there specially for the coffee, tasted regular and found out later it was the pressed coffee we should have ordered! But two in our party of 13 LOVED the Tonga toast and raved the whole trip...would do again and order the pressed coffee...
LeCellier - we loved this place! The cheese soup did not disappoint, we loved it, I actually only ordered the soup and salad and the portions were huge and I loved it all, the rest ordered steak (go figure) and had no complaints, atmosphere was nice, had table in front of fireplace which made for nice pictures...
Side note....Iced tea in Disney is GREAT (fresh brewed)
Earl of Sandwich - this place is wonderful...ate there twice and my GD said it is the place she would return to...sandwiches are BIG so share if you arent that hungry, but we had no complaints and many selections....
Prime Time 50's - husband and I shared the Chicken, it was great and huge portions, had the Dads sunday at end and it was a big mess of goo, but ymmy for those who ate it. Had a fun server, but was disappointed he did not do anything for the birthday girl.
Note here...1900 Park Faire really did up the birthdays (2 in our party and 1 anniversary) - got placemats to keep, crowns, cake with candle, also at Tea, same thing, and at the castle (anniversary couple got engraved glass goblets!) let them know when there is a special occasion - but not all places will do anything, such as Prime Time...
We ate so many places and this is long, so will continue another time. One thing though - DO NOT go to Disney without reservations and plans of where you will eat - the two meals we did not plan, we wound up eating yucky stuff or went to bed hungry (but OH those breaakfast buffets in the AM)
We did 2 character breakfasts - 1900 Park Faire and Chef Mickeys, twice at the breakfast buffet at SOG (really good and cheap too), Konas one morning and room service two other times
Lunches were...Prime Time, Pecos Bills, Fish & Chips at Epcot, Blizzard Beach, EArl of Sandwich twice
Dinners ....OHanas, LeCellier, Crystal Palace, Castle, twice at SOG Garden Gallery Buffets - surprisingly good, Hoope De Doo, Mexico
Snacks...loved the Mickey bars and Dole Whip - also CC Cookies on main street and of course the bakery in France - great creme broulet, we actually did not snack much - too much food - note to self...do more sharing of meals!
