Just returned from 5 night trip.

We will ALWAYS go in October again! Would highly recommend it.

The weather was G-R-E-A-T! Warmer and less humid than during our typical springtime visits. The water was warmer for swimming too.

Best thing was the lack of CROWDS! We walked onto practically everything! They weren't even using Fastpass at many attractions because it just wasn't necessary. I think our only waits were for "show" type attractions like the Muppets 3D, since they have to cycle.

Example: We did RnR 3-times in a row with absolutely no line. Just jumped off - went around - and got back into the recording studio pre-show.

We stayed at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge by renting points from a DISer. It was a good experience. We felt it was a little risky, but our renter had good feedback and provided references. We had a studio. It was nice to spend only about $110/nt. for accomodations advertised at over $300/nt.

We loved VWL, but the transportation thing was really worse than at any other Disney resort where we have stayed. It takes FOREVER for the bus to go to the campground and wind through the ridiculous route it has to go through to get to the bus stop. On some mornings, the bus stopped at the Grand Floridian too (for no apparent reason) and what seemed to be hundreds of people would pile in on top of those who were already there. There just didn't seem to be enough buses running either. I think we waited for over 30 minutes for a bus to take us from the AK and even longer one night at Downtown Disney.

During our stay, we attended the 999 Happy Haunts Ball, a special event at the MK. We were disappointed in that. If you're interested, you can see my review/details on the Collector's Board here.

Would be glad to answer questions, particularly regarding traveling in October, the crowds, VWL, etc. Please note that we have no kids, so don't know anything about MNSSHP or anything like that.

Sounds like your experience with the buses last week was as bad as ours! It just about ruined our trip. :( Disney needs to have one bus for each resort and quit all this sharing.

and at the Movies ......but the Dolphin was easy with the boat service and the busses to MK and AK.....hope it continuees....sounds like you had a great time though.....I love RnR coaster....I just did it for the first time on LAbor day......my hubby forced me on it....and I loved it.....thanks again
